Well It's been a busy week of running around and doing things...

Today because I have been busy I spent the day Stamping and designing Sketches for something I have been asked to do in January. Every Thursday I'll have a new post Guaranteed...

I hope to catch up on some challenges tomorrow so I'll have a card to post then again also.

Last week I made this cute Chapstick holder using My Bold Butterfly Jumbo Wheel and My Cricut using Mickey & Friend Cart and the Icon for Minnie this pretty Rose. I shadowed with SU basic Grey, I used an Olive color and an old Pink form SU's retired colors I believe.

I cut a card front at 5.5 x4.25 then cut it in half so I had two pieces 2 3/4 x 4 1/4.

I scored both pieces at 2.5 from each side so their is a 1/2" scored piece int he middle. It a 1" slit at 1/4, 2, 2 1/4, 2 3/4, 3, 4" I believe that is correct then I stick the pieces together along the outer edges using tape runner after folding the score lines in opposite directions. I used cute converse fro the sentiment in basic Grey and Cetainly celery to roll the wheel on.

I cut the rose at 3 " with my cricut and embellished with ribbon and Hero Arts 2mm clear gemstones.

Merry Christmas Nugget Boxes

I needed to make two nugget boxes at the last minute as gifts. I used some old Dp I had lying around for wrapping the nuggets. I cut it at 1 " and then in 3 1/2" strips. I stamped the Alphabits Stamp 6 stimes and then punched out the letters for merry christmas with my 1/4" circle Punch then punched out the outer circle matting with a 1/2" punch after attacheing the 1/4" letters. I used 12x12 SU cardstock to make the boxes in The Old SU colors.

I cut the sheets at 6" then scored at 3/4" and 1 1/2" all the way around for the bottom, then I scored at 1/16" less than the 3/4" and 18" less than the 1 -1/2 " on the green Cs for the lid on the long edge I cut along the inner score line to the last score line then used tape runner to glue the long edges over and then folded the flaps in and folded the end flaps over the top to make the box and lid. the nuggets were a hair tight so one nugget is upsidedown in the box on both rows. I eheat embossed the top using Autumn Leaves Swirls and gold embossing powder. The ribbon is an old after Christmas purchase from a few years ago. It was nice to have all the supplies on hand to put this gift together for some unexpected guest tomorrow.

Gift Ideas

Tonight I spent finishing up some last minute gifts for my
Ds's 3rd grade class and for some friends I'll be seeing tomorrow. They were relatively simple. I made the old reindeer candy canes and filled some snowflake tins with goodies. Sometimes keeping it simple makes for a more relaxing Christmas. I have been wanting to make some cards but I look at the sketches and I have no Inspiration. It seems to me everyone has better Ideas than I have.



I made sugared Pecans and English Toffee to fill the tins. I purchased Wilton Treat Bags to place them in and some red satin ribbon to tie the packaging closed. I picked up some cute Angel Cookie Cutters, because I invisioned having a lot more time to make up cookie mixes, but.....The angels still look cute in the tin pails.





For reindeer I used the fruity flavored candy canes seems my kids like them better than the peppermint ones. I got the red pompoms by buying a 1/3 yard of red ball trim seems the red pom pom's were gone. I didnt see the need for an assorted package, because I worried I would have to buy 2 packages to get enough red ones. One package of Brown Pipe Cleaners, and One package of Wiggly Eyes. I used glue dots to adhere the Pom poms and eyes. the pipe cleaner is just wrapped around and twisted. The kids love these, they can even make them themselves, and they seem to be a hit.

Pink Thank You

I think I have waited long enough I can post my Pink You Thank You Card...

I call it that becasue I used several Pinks for a friend who adores Pink and the "YOU" embossing folder for my Cuttlebug. I cant wait to get the new cuttlebug folders, It is taking forever to get them to the stores...Why is that!

I digress!

I also made this for SC153 on Split coast. I liked the layout it is fun and cute to use if you have a small image. I used designer paper from Stampin Up the Petals and Paisleys, and the Chocolate one from the spring Mini last year...Love that paper...the Basic Grey one in the catalog is cute also... I used the Mini dots and colored some of the dots in Pretty In Pink and Regal Rose then embossed it with D'vine swirl. The Pink cardstocks I chose are both from the Michaels Baby Girl Assortment. The ribbon I got from a local giant Scrapbook store by the yard. Isnt it cute! I used Riveting and stamped it with Timber Brown StaZon. and then stamped in Pretty in Pink and used my 1/2" circle punch to punchthe flower out and put it on dimensionals. the flower center has a 3mm Yellow hero arts gemstone and the outer circle has two 2mm pink ones. I did the scalloped edges with scissors. I know the corners dont match up well but I dont have the full version of the software yet, so I can't make scalloped rectangles yet. It is very hard to see but I used the cutting area on my cutter and an embossing pen stylus to make an embossed square 1/8" in from the edge of the light pink square you can see it if you look close or enlarge the picture. My friend should be getting this soon!

Simple Nugget Gift Box

To night I amde a simple gift box for some Nuggets, nothing fancy I just wanted one more thing to put in her box before I mailed it tomorrow. I suppose I could have stamped snowflakes on the lid and embossed it with White embossing powder, but I'm affraid I am a novice box maker. I had no directions, and I didnt want to get side tracked online looking for them. I just used my ruler and measured and taped until I had this little box and its contents ready to send.
I used Bold Snowflake Jumbo Wheel and Ballet Blue to make some DP paper on regular printer paper. I figured it was just getting ripped off anyways. I cut it in 1" strips and trimmed it to fit the Nuggets at about 2-3/4". The paper was trimmed to 8" on one side and then scored at one inch intervals two times. I cut about 1 1/4 in of the other end. I dont know I just know the lid is 1/8" wider than the bottom and I folded the sides in and the ends over the top and glued them. Pretty much ,measured the Nuggets and went from their. I need to find a pattern, but maybe another day. I have been Busy like everyone else so I think my daughter will be pleased with these. I also made my Christmas a little bit simple and more stress free by not worring about the little details. That is my message. More from the Trial

I couldnt cut these out with the trial but I played with welding shapes and things from the Mini Monograms cart.

When I get the full version of the software I am sure you will see more items I create with it showing up in my blog.

I used the software to make the circle into an oval using both the plain and scalloped ones I showed how I stretched them and made ones that could fit inside of each other.

Using the arrows on the Object boxes to manipulate the shape.

Until I had a finished pproduct that would fit inside of each other

Then I copied it and fit them all over the mat. I saved the full template so I can cut it out when my software arrives. I mean after Christmas. when I get to open it.
I also played with welding a square and a circle to fill the whole mat so that when it was folded it could make a 4 1/2 x 5 1/2"Envelop with scalloped edges maybe I should have used a solid square and just had the flap scalloped.

I guess I need to go play some more.
I really think this software will be a big hit. I need to go and get some stuff done around here So I can Make some cards and tiles tonight.

Cricut Trial Software Down Load.

Last night I didnt make a card because I was playing with my Cricut and the Trial for the New Design Software . Here is a link to the post on SCS with the Trial, when I clicked it the process started automatically.I love that the Software gives my Cricut more options and allows me to play around before I cut paper. I also like that what I see is what I cut. MY favorite feature is the weld and The ability to mix cuts form differnt cartridges. I do have the software on order and I got a notice that it Shipped Yesterday, I am so excited to get it since the trial only lets you play with the carts that came with you machine. I like how easy it was to set up and update the Cricut and the software when it comes. PC did a great job with the trial of explaining each step so it could be done easily. My only delema now is I really need to move my computer cabinet and set up down by my Cricut and craft stuff. It would save me from running up and down the stairs all the time. Though a good way to get more exercise after sitting at either my craft table or my computer might be a good thing. The screen looks like this It has a window for choosing carts and a window for setting weld and nudging. Each set of things you type merge automatically unless you make sure that the Line is spaced away for the prievious added letters. It allows you to change layers on overlapped items. There is a faint grey line like a word box in Printmaster or word when you add objects that will from around an object that you can double click on it in the upper left corner. If you do the movements available show up for each object the different corners and sides as circled arrows and let you skew turn rotate drag and slide or stretch the object.

The first thing I did was placed the heart from George on the mat and the names in separate boxes. Then I dragged and stretched the heart to the size to handle the names. I squished the names to fit in the heart so they are narrower then normal. I selected "and" and then dragged it onto the heart. Lastly I picked the flower and played with it and skewed it and stretched it until it fit on the heart the way I wanted. Being able to see exactly where you are placing things is a plus over the old machine and a definate plus in saving paper in the future when you are cutting. I have used the objects from other carts to play and I was able to make the scalloped Circle on Mini Monograms into an oval and then place a letter J from George inside of it.

I can now make all the shapes I need for scallops with Mini Monograms with the scalloped squares and circles. That saves me from ordering the nestabilities(for now), and really makes that cart a money saver for me. If you have a Cricut you need to check out the trial version also to see if it will work with your computer(windows XP& Vista). I cant wait until my full version arrives and I can play & cut with all my carts...I am so excited for Christmas.

Gift Box

My friend is having a Birthday soon, and we are doing Lunch today. I waited to post this tin until I thought she wouldnt see it.I bought a few "Bratz" mini lunchbox tins last year on clearance after christmas. This is how I get most of my tins. I was going to stamp a lunch bag when I was digging through my drawers I found the tins. I forgot I even had them. I still have more I can decorate for Christmas gifts now!

I used a packaged set of paper from Provo Craft that my kids recieved last Christmas, because I needed to match the purple and I wanted Turquoise to match the card. The turquoise & gingham Purple ribbon was a Micro spool from Walmart, the olive rick rak was a micro spool from Joanns. I removed the handle and then adhered all the paper with tape runner. then I also taped the ribbon and rick rack and adhered it quickly, I didn't find the tin with enough time to use Modge Pog. On the strip of paper I cut a notch with scissors and a rounded half circle with my 1/2" circle punch to go around the closure. It took about 20 min to make. Only becasue I have covered tins in the past.

Happy Birthday Trio

Tonight I made the three birthday cards I am going to need in the next week.

I used a turquoise cardstock from an 8x8 assortment and a Chcolate Cardstock witha waffle pattern I had picked up at an LSS a while ago. I used my Lockhart cupcake stamp and my SU Watercolor Wonder crayons to color it. I masked the cherry on top and then added a candle sticker in pink and turquoise for accent. I picked it up a long time ago I thik at Walmart.

I punched the image out with my SU 1 3/8" circle punch and the turqouise and Chocolate with my Cricut using "Mini Monograms" Circle at

1 1/2" and Scallop at 2". after adhering it all together I mounted it on dimensionals.

The velet ribbon with Brown stiching I picked up at a local craft store. I tied it and then adhered it with glue runner to the turquoise Cuttlebug "Birthday" embossed front and then matted with the chocolate. I really like how it turned out.

I also liked being able to make some cards two days ina row even though I am so busy.

SC151 & SC152 A PAir of Christmas Cards

I've been so busy getting cards and presents taken care of but I am a few cards short so I made two cards tonight using SU Sage Shadow and a light pink from the Baby Girl Assortment at Michaels. The second one also uses SU Regal Rose.

I used my Circle punches and dimensionals for the sentiment on the first.

I used D'vine swirl and embossed on both, I also used the Snowflake folder on the first.

They are pretty basic, I used the SU Bold Snowflake Jumbo wheel for the first and Cute Converse for both.

I cut out tabs on the Dvine swirl to hold the center strip in I like how it turned out. I added bling by gluing on these light pink gemstones from Walmart.

On the second card I used SU Festive Favorites and HeroArts gemstoone for bling. I used my tag punches and dimensionals also. I painted using the same colors with my Aqua painters and Watercolor Wonder Crayons. I dont have regal rose in those yet so Imixed al;ittle pretty in Pink and Cameo for a darker pink. I got the white baby rick rack at Walmart. Any Questions ask... I am so busy I am sure you are also.

Blue Swirl Christmas STSC06

I made this for the aaStalker Sketch Challenge #6 on SCS I have been very busy and It was great to find some time to make something.

I have also been working on a nother project I haven't finished yet.

I used the lightest bluew from Michaels assorted Blue Cardstock and GPWhite, I used various stamps stamped in Basic Grey classic ink, and then Watercolor wonder crayons, the blues from, Soft Subtles, Earth Elements and Bold Brights, and Garden Green and Chocolate Chip for the tree. THe brads are various blues from Making Memories, and I stamped Autumn Leaves Swirls vol. 1 and colred that with Tempting Turquoise. I embossed using my cuttlebug with D'vine Swirl and Snowflakes. some of the layers are mounted on dimensionals. I used a Sakura Stardust gel pen in clear to accent the present bows and some of the swirls and the edge of the white stamped layer.

Happy Thanksgiving

I have had a very busy week so far. I went to a friends for a swap last night and only two of us were there. The two doing the make and takes everyone else had something come up and they just dropped off their cards. It is just a busy time. The two of us had a nice visit, and made our own make and takes and then I came home. We had fun visiting, but I dont have a card to post right now.

I have been cleaning and making Pies today so I wont probably have a chnce to post cards until Friday.

I thought I would just Wish you all a very Happy and Thankful Thanksgiving.

Flower pieces card

I made a simple card to night just to make something.

I used Real Red, white and Mellow Moss cards tock. I embossed Mellow Moss with my cuttlebug ising my textile embossing folder. I used my Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an H2O painter to paint Real red and mellow moss ont he poppy. I mounted the cut outs on dimensionals. The squares were punched with my CM large squares punch. It was simple card because I was up way to late last night. This will be a very busy week for me but I hope you and I can find some more time to stamp.

Challenge Card and Scrapbook page

I made this card for 2 challenges on SCS(split coast).

One of the challenges is for todays way to use it challengeWT140, and one for todays Stalkers Challenge sketchSTSC04.

I had fun trying to make the layout into a double fold card. It turned out, butnext time I think I stick to the LO. I just wanted more writing room, because I made it to send to a friend.

I used Kraft paper for the base, and SU Close to Cocoa for matting the Old Olive(Michaels). I wish I had some Chocolate Chip but I am out, used it up as well as my brown brads. I cut the SU Pumpkin Pie Piece and the Old Olive piece to shape and then embossed to the fold on both pieces.

Thank goodness the folders can fit in the Cuttlebug both directions making these embossings possible.

I slit the green piece along the fold because I wanted to

fit the Flap in it. It worked really well. IStamped Paisley on the back inside of the Pumpkin Pie piece of the card to contrast against the embossing. I think it worked really well. Then I was able to also double the ribbona nd tie it. I originally was going to slip the rivet over the ribbon , but I couldnt find the right place to attach the brads. So I attached then to the rivet, and then mounted it on a dimensional and orange matted it so it would stand out more against the gr

een flap. It wasn't that hard to make and I enjoyed being creative with the layout.

The other thing I finally finished was my last Cricut thread Challenge to do a scrap book page using a Cricut Cut not a font.

I used some paper I got last christmas in a scrappack. I then matted pictures with Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, and Basic Grey SU papers. I made a journaling area for my Daughter and stamped a sentiment from Happy Harmony on Bashful Blue also.

THe flowers were cut using my George Cartridge and the silhouette feature and the Blackout shadow. 2 flowers were cut at 1 1/4" the other at 2 1/2". It is a simple fun page to make.

Blue Snowflake Holiday

I made this card for SC150. I like this layout , but probably wont use it alot becasue of the amount of paper I used. I used SU Basic Grey and Bashful Blue, the ink is SU Basic Grey.

I used SU Sincere Salutations and Autumn Leaves Swirls ver.1. for stamped images.

Some snowflakes and layers were mounted on dimensionals.

I used D'vine Swirl and Dots and Spots Embossing folders it's pretty straight forward.

item 1 for Cricut Challenge #1

Okay tonight I finshed another card the last for this cricut challenge.

This Item was to make a card using a cricut die cut not a font.

I chose to use my Doodlecharms Cartridge.

It took a long time to decide on paper for this one. at first I was just going to use the tan and blues the darker blue being SU Bordering Blue. The other two are from a nuetrals and blue assortment I picked up along time ago,I think at Michaels. When it came time to decide on a ribbon I quickly switched form the nice stictched tan one to this Pink and Blue satin. I used the same Light Pink Cardstock I used yesterday.

I cut the tag stocking at 2" and then took ou tthe pieces and taped the back with packing tape, and sprinkled with glitter. I then cut a 1 1/4 circle with my SU circle punch and adhered it behind so the stocking was more white. I stamped the SU "Snow Fluries" and SU "Warm Words" in White Craft and then embossed with Kaliedascope embossing powder. The embossed blue piece was a scrap from the snowflake card I made a few weeks ago. I used a wide wave decorative scissoron the three layered pieces. The tan was pierced with a paper piercer and the Pink Punched with a 1/8" circle punch. The layer was mounted on dimensionals and so was the tag after the ribbon was threaded through.

item 5 for Cricut Challenge #1 "iloveyou" card

Item 5 of our first ever cricut challenge is to make anything using your cricut and cuttlebug on the same cut out.

I made this card using my Mini Monograms cart.I wanted to scallop the squares and repeat SC149 so I decided to combine the challenges.

I cut the squares scalloped and rounded, the flowers and the "ilove you" and its shadow with this cart. The large square was 3", the large flower 2" ,small Squares and flowers 1". I used Old Olive to sponge on the white rounded squares after embossing with D'vine Swirl. I thought it made a stem like feel to the vine. I cut a scrap piece of Old Olive embossed with the "Bubbles" folder and free handed the cut out of this leaf. I used SU Old Olive marker to draw the veins on the leaf. I embossed the pink flowers with "bubbles also because I felt that layer of the card should have the same texture. The "iloveyou" was cut at 1" in old olive and a shadow of a teal color I had on hand. I used three MM Sherbet colored flower brads in yellow to make the centers of the flowers. This also attached the sentiment to the card. The pink flowers and ilove u were attached with dimensionals. I used SU Petals and Paisleys Designer Paper for the base and center stripe on the card. I added a bit more pink by using the same light pink from the flowers to mat the stripe of designer paper in the center. The light pink comes from an assorted package of called "Baby Girl" cardstock from Michaels. I hope you like it.

SC149 Birthday Boy

I made this for SCS's Sketch Challenge for last Tuesday.

Its a card for a Birthday Boy.

I used used my Watercolor Wonder Crayons for the first time. I have had them a whole week and been too busy to use them. I have one more set to get and I can't wait.

I painted with mostly the Neutrals and the Bold Bright's for this Card.

I used some of my Michaels Dollar stamps "airplane and Car" Purchased last spring, and a Boy from SU retired "Kids at Play". The red, white and blue ribbon was purchased at Wal-mart. I layered using YoYo Yellow, Brilliant Blue and Real Red. I used my "Mosaic" embossing folder in my Cuttlebug to emboss the Yellow and Blue matted strip. I used my "D'vine Swirl" folder to emboss the designer cardstock. I purchased the designer cs at a discount last spring from my local scrapbooking store. It was a light grey with white spots, it was called Park Ave made by American Crafts. It is light pink on the opposite side. I felt the Grey went well with the air plane, I colored the circles using my SU markers of the same colors as the matting, and added Green Galore because it went with one of the greens I used to paint the grass in with. The other greens were Certainly Celery, Gable green. The shadow spots are all in Sarah Sand. I like how it turned out. What do you think?

Item 3 for Cricut Challenge #1

Item 3 for Cricut Challenge #1 Is make a 3d Object using a font cartridge.

I made this little Scrapbook Display Frame using

Mini Monograms. When I cut the turquoise squares with slots I was intending to make a box shaped ornament, but quickly changed to something else.

I cut all the squares at 4"; 4- with slots and 6- just squares. The plain squares had to be cut using real dial size.

The flower on the cover was cut at 2 1/2" and the circle "a" at 2". The small flower on the back cover was cut at 1 1/4" and the circle center was punched out with a 1/2" circle punch.

I used turqouise grosgrain ribbon to attach the Initial flower to the front. I used 4 coasters to make the covers. The Designer Paper was some I recieved cut as a christmas present last year I do not know the maker.

I traced the coasters to make the covers and then trimed the tips off with a corner rounder not all the way inserted. I sanded the edges a bit after attaching the cardstock and paper to the cover. The Silver Glitter ribbon I used for the binding was a purchased from Wal-mart clearance after last Christmas. I threaded it through the slit squares and then spaced the gap about 1/4" and attached the ribbon to one coaster centering them on both ends. Then I attached the second coaster using super tacky tape I bought from Taylor Van Bruggen's Blog. It is similar to the red super sticky mounting tape. The 6 plain squares were then attached to the backs of the sloted squares and the coaster covers inside using tape runner glue.

I didnt put pictures in this yet, but I intend to finish it for my DD as a gift.

Item 4 for Cricut Challenge #1

On a thread I chat on on SplitCoast we decided to do a monthly challenge starting this month.

This month has 5 challenges. #4 on the challenge is make something using Orange and Brown to celebrate Thanksgiving. I have been wanting to make a star box since I saw it on Val Stangles Blog a few weeks ago. So this is the box I made. I didnt have a score pal so I had to score using my paper cutter.

The above link will take you to Vals blog it has a link to a great tutorial for the box. I modified my box slightly so It would work on a 8 1/2 x 11 piece of Kraft paper. I felt it would make a sturdy base for the box.

You really need to look at Vals blog to see a fantastic box. Mine is mediocre at best, and the only designer paper I had to work with the colors challenged was the Chocolate Chip Assortment I got from SU that is now retired. I colored the dots in with Real Rust, Old Olive & Summer Sun SU markers. I love doing this technique with the dots. I then cut some real rust colored Cardstock for the top half of the box. Next I attached the bottom of the star box to a piece of Really Rust cardstock with glue and then put a heavy roll of masking tape on top to apply downward pressure while the glue dried. When it was dry I trimmed the Really Rust cardstock even with the outside edge of the box, to form the bottom. Next I adhered the ribbon to the box. The acorn leaf border was cut at 2 1/2 inches using my Cricut Doodle charms Cartridge. I used my Water Color Wonder Crayons Basic Black and a fine tip aqua painter to add the lines and details( see small insert). then adhered it to the middle to cover the seam. I also used the Tag setting to cut 1 Acorn tag and 2 green leaf tags at 2 1/2", for leaving a little message. I tied the tags together using a 1/4" loopy satin brown ribbon and an Orange Organza 1/2" ribbon. I forgot to go dig out tissue paper to stuff in the box to give it a more finished look. I plan to put a little candy in this for a friend around Thanksgiving.

Cards For Fun

I decided I needed to make some more playful cards for birthdays. I am running out of them.

On the first card I masked the card front with a rectangle made by punching two squares in cardstock and placing it over the front. I then used a sponge to add Green Galore Ink to the Whisper White card base. I then used Versa Magic Midnight Black and my Autumn Leaves "Swirls" to add a print on the white sections and frame the green rectangle. I then tied a black and white gingham ribbon around the card. I felt like it needed a bit more and I wanted to add some embellishment. I chose these green MM tropicals brads but didnt want to put them through the card base. I chose to punch a few circles out of Black cardstock with my 1/2 " and 1 3/8" Circle punches. I decided they needed a little depth so I embossed them with my cuttlebug Textile folder. then adhered the brads and placed them on the card. After I stamped "Brithday Wishes". I liked the look and took a picture. I didnt like the look of the picture so I then took my Snow Flurries stamp set and My Green Galore Ink and added some green astriks shaped flakes. I now love how the card turned out and how simple it is.

My second card is much more chunky and playful. I started my picking up the Green Galore frame shape my friend sent me from her "Accent Essentials" Cricut cart. I added a white base and trimmed it to fit with scissors. Then I looked at the cut outs again and chose the red various circle with spokes in Real Red cut with the same Cricut cart. I was thinking Christmas. and I started layering red flakes on the card using My two Ek snowflake punches. I didn't like it that well so i began to look for a background color and boy did the color pop when I used this dark Blue cardstock. SO I Punched some snow flakes of that color and layered them and added alternating colors and gem stones for centers. I embossed the background using my "Bubbles" Folder and then trimmed the corners of the base and the abckgound with a corner rounder. I tied a red satin ribbon around the blue before adhering it to the base and then mounted the decorated frame on dimensionals. Looking at it I decided the green frame needed something so I punched out a lot of little red circles using my double circle punch and adhered them to the fram and then the background to tie it all together. When it was all finished I felt it needed a bit more green so I sponged green galore on the card base. THis was a fun card to make and I think it turned out great. I decided it was more of a fun birthdy card then a christmas card so I stamped the "Happy Birthday" Sentiment from SU Alphabet Soup in SU Brilliant Blue and then stamped off and rolled it in SU Real Red. then stamped it on the white in the frame. It was fun card to make and put together and I think it turned out quite festive. What do You think?

Blue & Silver snowflakes SC148

Last week I posted a card I made that looked similar to this one. I had intended to make it for SC148. I finally had time to do a remake of it for SC148.

Most items are the same except I also added some snowflakes stamped in Moonlight Wite on the blue card stock. I also used all brads for the gemstones on the new card.

I used a decorative scissor with a longer wave and silver cording. This time I wrapped the cord in the opposite direction. I also added some Sakura Stardust glitter to my Silver snowflakes on the lower blue panel. To add some shimmer on the vellum I rolled my brayer on an embossing ink pad and then across the vellum lightly. I sprinkled kaliedescope embossing powder on the snowflakes and heat set it. I really like how this turned out.

Chocolate Chip Baby Card

My DD#5 needed a card for a friend. I put this one together really quickly using "Welcome Little One". The colors are a retired Pink form SU and Chocolate chip. I stamped the image and saying with Stazon Timber Brown ink. I used my water colored pencil to color and my aqua painters to blend them. I distressed the edges of the pink matting and used my matte brown Creative Impressions brads. I am almost out of these and I need to get more. The chocolate chip card stock was embossed using D'Vine swirl in my cuttlebug. I am glad that they are coming out with more folderers with this type of pattern. I cant wait until they are released. "Birds and Swirls", "Perfectly Paisley", and "Floral Fantasy" are a few of the new folders that I am waiting to get. I used petite swiss dot organdy ribbon from Walmart and a touch of pink satin. I punched the tag and matting for it using my SU tag Punches.

Christmas Duo

I made the following two cards for different swaps on SCS. The first is a simple Snowflake card. I embossed using my Snowflake A2 folder on Vellum and then trimmed the edges of the vellum and white cardstock with Fiskers decorative scissors. I attached the vellum to the white cardstock using Creative Memories "Frosted splits". I totally intended to use this card for my SC148 challenge and forgot about it while making the cards. I got kind of caught up in the design. The blue cardstock is SU Bordering Blue. I stamped with "snowflurries" in "VersaMark" Ink, after I heat embossed with silver embossing powder"Holiday Greetings" from SU Sincere Salutations set. I used a fuzzy cord ribbon (lighter than it appears here) and wrapped it around the white snowflake layer and then added a silver snowflake with a clear gemstone brad, and 3 small hero arts clear gemstones. A very simple card but I like how it turned out.

The second card uses one of my tag stamps form the original SU Tag Punch Box. I stamped with Bashful Blue and then colored just the Real Red marker over joy and stamped it on a separate piece of cs and then trimmed it down and adhered it to the tag, after coloring it with Green Galore, Only Orange, YoYo Yellow and Basic Black SU markers. I used a small piece of Red Cardstock to mat the tag. I tied the red checked gingham ribbon around the D'vine swirl embossed retired SU Light blue cardstock. I used my QuiKuts Snowflake Die in my Cuttlebug and cut on White cardstock. After cutting themout I put through my Xyron "X" sticker maker and then adhered glitter to the snowflakes. They were mounted on the card using dimensionals.

I think they both turned out cute I just love snowflakes and Blue cards, in the winter. I really loved the card posted by Jill in this post on her blog "Inkgenius" , It is so beautiful, Check It Out.

Thinking Spring

I stamped these images months ago using my demo's stamps. I never could figure out exactly what I wanted to do with them. A few days a go I started coloring them. It was a lot of fun.
They begged for spring colors though. I just kept coloring nd cutting out the images.
To be honest I dont know the name of the stamp set but it is SU. I am feeling too lazy to go look it up. Maybe I'll put that in tomorrow.

I layered and matted with paper scraps I have from various assortment packages. I used my water color pencils to color and my H2O painters to paint the images and add some grass. I added hero arts gemstones to the brads and petals. The center part of the flowers and leaves from the small flower are mounted on 1/16" dimensionals. The bid is on 1/8" cut dimensionals. I added some extra texture by paper piercing.

I took this close up when I made the layer a few days ago. The ribbon is a yellow dotted blue I picked up at Wal-mart. The sentiment is from Cute Converse. I used my D'vine swirl for the orange background, and made faux rivets with my white gel pen. I used my 1/8" punch so I could let a little white show around the gems I put in the center of my faux rivets. My ticket corner punch added some additional texture to the card, and I used my Creative Memeories square punch to mat the sentiment. I just played with my stuff and had fun. This is a fun card for a relaxing evening. Waiting for Trick or Treaters.

Blue Christmas

I have been busy! I have just not posting been anything. Last weekend I had a headcold sinus thing going on. Didn't do much of anything. I have been catching up since. I've been playing in the evening and just havent stayed up to post.

I did make this card last night. using an old SCS LO I used before. I am not quite sure what I think. I like Blue and I like snowflakes. It looks nice but I dont know that I love it. I used "Alphabet Soup" for the sentiment. I stamped Tempting Turquoise and then I rocked & rolled it in Close to Cocoa. It was too dark the first stamping so this is the Stamped off image. I used 3 colord=s of Blue from an assorted package I picked up at Michaels, and a Brown form the Botanicals Package. The ribbon is a stiched I picked up at Michaels also. The sentiment is matted and raised on dimensionals. The blues used my cuttlebug folders, "D'Vine Swirl, Bubbles, & Snowflakes". I think I wnat to replace the brown brads with teal ones. I dont know.

Christmas Trio!!!

I have been making a few cards the last few days. I decided to go with my SC147 first. I used Night Of Navy for matting and Bordering Blue for the image stamping.
I decided I definately was not going to use the cuttlebug tonight. I Embossed alot the base and secondary layer I embossed with clear embossing powder the top i embossed with SIlver embossing powder, because I wanted a few more silver embellishments. I followed the SC147 sketch pretty closely. I used my Paisley, Print pattern and Cross hatch backgrounds. Paisley & Print Pattern were embossed using versa mark. I stamped Night of navy over the embossed image and then wiped the excess ink off the embossing. I then added a little shimmer using my Sakura clear stardust pen. Have I said, "I love that pen"! I Do! I used my marvy scalloped corner rounder on two of the bordering blue layers, and my EK small corner rounder on the Night of Navy layers. I like the look. I used my double circle punch to punch half circles in the NoN edge to hold the navy and silver cording in place. I used silver button brads on the sentiment and the corners. I silver embossed an astrik snowflake from "Snow Flurries". I stamped "sparkle" from "Warm Words" on the bordering blue small layer with NoN ink. I like how it turned out.

My next card is only possible because of a RAK I recieved. The Blue and Red snowflakes(spoked circles) layered on the card were made with "Accent Essentials" on a Cricut Expression. I want the cart but it only comes with the E-bug. I want it so bad, so my friend sent me some diffent cuts form it in the mail. The background is some left over card stock I had stamped for a Christmas Swap I am in, so I used it here. The inks are bordering blue stamped three times before reinking, Night of Navy and Real Red, and Brilliacne Paltnium Planet. The gemstone stars are some I picked up on clearance at my local scrapbook store(LSS). I thought they added to the center of the large cut spoke circles, that I am using as snowflakes. The small snowflake stamps come from "Snow Flurries" and "Cold Play". I matted the sentiment with NoN and the base image with pieces of Real read left over from my swap card. I used a ticket corner punch on both. The "be Merry" is from "Warm Words". the white it is stamped on was sponged with Platnium Planet also. The ribbons were scraps and the brads MM silver for a finishing touch.

My last card is a second card I made for my Christmas Swap I signed up for on SCS. I used "Cold Play" and "Snow Flurries" stamp sets. The previously mentioned Cardstock and Ink colors.

I used the markers of Bordering Blue, Night of Navy and Real red to color the Scarf stamp and fill in the hat band and flower after stamping it with Versamagic "Midnight Black".

The Snowman was stamped with "Basic Gray", the arms with "Close to Cocoa" and the carrot nose with Pumkin Pie". I masked the circle of the snowman as I stamped them using Post its, starting with the small circle. I sponged the Night of Navy background with Brilliance Moonlight White after embossing it with my D'vine Swirl Folder. The hat is mounted on Dimensionals, and the red strips are pierced. The three White brads are the finishing touch. I am happy with how it turned out.
