Gift for Baby

I needed to decorate this bag for a baby gift.

I often buy these gift bags in bulk in a variety of colors to have on hand for gifts. They are inexpensive and handy, but need to be cuter. I often cut out something to decorate them, for this baby bag I went fairly simple.

I used my Gypsy to layout and design the cut. I used the "Gypsy Wanderings" images and cut the shadow and image for the Baby in GP white Cardstock and light Pink from GP Pastel cardstock pack.

I did have one problem when enlarging. This might be my fault...I will let you know later. When I went to match up the images the white was a bit longer between the "Y" and the "Bottle" on the pink piece..I fixed this by cutting the shadow piece and then adhering the white with a slight over lap. This may have been user error I will check that out tomorrow. I didnt select and enlarge the pieces at the same time and have them locked when I increased the size. Usually I do this together, but I decided on using a white shadow after laying out the rest of the cut.

You can see the over lap in the cut out picture if you look closely.

I cut 2 baby bottles one in Green and one in Yellow, from the stash scrap. I cut 2 so I could get a yellow nipple. It just didnt seem right for it to be green. I then trimmed the nipple and base of the bottle following the line the cricut cut.

HEY, HEY, HEY, Blog Candy Players

I figure my blog candy will be awarded on Monday...My dear friend called, she does taxes and is very busy usually until April, SHe wants to go to the LSS. We never do anything until April usually rhus time of year..She has been having a rough few months..so it wouldnt be right to not go spend a day helping her get away from the world if you know what I mean,, and it wouldnt be right to go to this LSS and not get something! Its a huge store and carries everything ...so tomorrow morning I will be going with her to do some shopping...I figure I will probably buy something. She always feels bad when she spends more than I do, which is usually always! I also have some money burning a hole in my pocket from selling my little cricut & jukebox. Hoq can I not buy something! We will see...but I thought I would let you know.

I did start a project to post today...some jars filled with chocolates..I was going to cut vinyl for them...I misread the screen on my Gypsy, actually miscounted and put the vinyl an inch higher than I should have. Then I just ran out of time to get them finsihed. I was making them for friends that were coming for lunch.
I planned this lunch about a month ago..daye got changed etc...

We had an enjoyable time, and they did go home with jars of chocolate. This is why I have spent more time cleaning than creating...now my house is clean so I think I will create tonight.

I have a baby gift bag to do for my friends DD. I'll it at midnight, if I get it made!

Another Birthday Card

SO I have been busy..de junking and cleaning...seems I am too tired to create...or too cold..DH bought me a little space heater and I used that last night to keep my toesies warm while I made a card for SCS269.

I used some SU: DP retired from last years catty.

I pulled the Bashful Blue cardstock out na d embossed with D'vine swirl.as the base. I trimmed a piece of SU Only Orange to 1 1/2" then punched down both side with my MS Lattice Arch punch. I also emboseed a piece withthe flowers from "with Love" border embossers. I used my MS pastel teardrops tosponge the light blue color onto the flowers and added Pearls from "The Paper Studio". Finally I added a strip of Bashful Blue between the Orange punched piece and then began layering. The last layer on dimensionals is the sentiment piece, I stamped "Birthday Wishes" from SU:Sincere Salutations set in Only Orange ink., matting in So saffron and using my Marvy double corner punch. I would have posted this last night but thought I would tweek it today on this panel adding some squares or swirls....Today I decided between scrubbing the stove and scanning pictures, doing laundry.etc......It was fine how it is...Hope you enjoy it! Another Pastel Beauty...I Guess

I am so glad I have finally got a routine going of getting around to making a challenge card andposting to my blog on a regular basis...hoping I can keep it up.

today I did the SC268 challenge on SCS. I wanted to do a mostly white card with a small amount of light pink. As usual what I start out "thinking I am doing" is not what I end up with.

For this card I used SU:Basic Gray, Pink Pirouette and GP White cardstock. I really like how it turned out. I heat embossed the two ends of the image from SU:"Bothway Blossoms" and the "Happy, Happy, Birthday" sentiment from SU: "All Year Cheer II" with Ranger White Detail Embossingpowder and Versa mark. Then I used a sponge to ink with my MS teardrop pastle inks in "PinkDahlia". After this dired I trimmed the images andmatted with Basic Gray. I used the swiss dots and Victoria EF's again just love this look , anyone sick of it yet? then I adhered the layers and put the sentiment on EK: dimensional squares(1/16"). I think it turned out very cute and wentto gether very quickly.

Perfectly Plum Day

I finally had some time today to do a couple of challenges on SCS. I really wanted to make the little matchbook candy holder from TLC260, and use the Color Combination from CC258. I really liked the colors so I used them for both the Card and the matchbook. The color combo is, PerfectPlum, Pale Plum and Soft Suede. I really love Perfect Plum so it surprised me that I used more Pale Plum on my projects.

The Birthdy Card uses SU:" Sincere Salutations" for the sentiment, and they both use the stemmed flower from SU:"Embrace Life". The "Thinking of You" is an individual Stamp byPaper Salon I picked up at a LSS years ago. I used Victoria EF again..I just love the soft look of its embossing. The ribbon is a Plum Offray grosgrain I purchased at Wal-mart. I made a hole with SU: slot tool punch to tie the ribbon on the sentiment panel. Then I raised it up on Fiskars med. Pop Dots.

I loved how the bottom edge of the Matchbook turned out. I layered a small strip of Soft Suede, with pieces of the 2 plum colors and then punched with my Martha Stewart "Arch Lattice" and SU "scalloped" border punches. I tied the 1/8" stitched ribbon around the layers. The flower images were stagger stampped in Timber Brow Stazon and the painted with a H2O painter using Pale Plum and Perfect Plum Watercolor Wonder Crayons. I love how you can keep layering them to get the look and darkness of color. I did add a tiny bit of Mellow Moss along the stem.

A....Birthday Card of Sorts

I have a friend on SCS who has had a cast on for a few weeks...her Brother hs been bugging her for his birthday card, because she is a little behind schedule...he has been teasingher and wantinghis card...SHe got her cast off on Friday last week and was mentioning how muchhe wanted his card...so a few of us said we could send cards too, because he likes them so much.

This si the card I made to be honest I am not feeling it today so this card lacks a little of its Wow factor. I used my Gypsy and layed it out then cut it. I think I made everythingthe perfect size for a scrapbook page but a little large for a card. So I kepts angling and adjusting & trimming all the pieces until it fit on the card...It doesnt look like anything I had pictured in my head... My head also has went blank as to what Cart the Cake came from? I used D'vine swirl to decorate thefrosting and Swiss Dots ont he background..I also used SU:Scalloped Square Punch and Word Window Punch to make the sentiment treatment...the stamp is from teeny tiny verses...

Cardstock is Chocolate Chip, Barely Banana, Baja Blue..Ink is Timber Brown StazOn....I think thats all I got today

I had a big "How Old?" I wanted to put on the frontside... I had to move to the inside of the card.

Valentine Giftbags

I needed to make some quick gift bags so I can get them ready for my kids today. When I went Blog hopping I found this cute Idea by Dawn. Lucky for me she has a tutorial with pictures!

I decided to give it a try. The bags were very easy and went together quickly. I decided to use my Cricut again. Seems to be the thing for me lately. I used my Gypsy to layout 3 mats. one withthe hearts and the grass and one with Lady bugs and one withthe animals. The images came from differnet carts. Grass and animals from Everyday Paperdolls and the Heart and Ladybugs from Doodle Charms.

Teddybear Gypsy Card

I used my Gypsy to lay out a Teddybear card for the LSC at Splitcoast today.



Love how quick and easy the card came together.



I used my Gypsy and Christmas, life's a Beach, George and Wild Card cartridges to make it.



I welded a rectangle from George and the shadow from the Bear and the Beach ball to the oposite edges of the rectangle. Since the bear shape was being folded over I flipped the image, so it would be facing the correct direction. I used GP White for the card base.



After removing from the mat I scored the beach ball edge a folded them measured 5 1/4" then scored again. After I lined up the argyle EF on the fold line and embossed the Bear fold part of the Card base. Then I used a So Saffron Inkdot to rub the ink over the Argyle embossing.



I used Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, and Embassy Black for assembling the bear. I put the small paw ear and nose pieces through the Xyron "X" and while still attached to the strip of paper sponged it with Close to Cocoa. After assembling the bear I cut along the leg line and under the nose with scissors to allow for the closure and the ribbon. For the beach ball I used Night of Navy for the layers..not wanting to recut the layers for the white end dot I glued the night of navy one to a piece of scrap white and then trimmed close to the edge and then adhered to the ball after assembling.


Cuttlebug struck again and scraps of Old Olive was embossed with D'vine swirl, and So Saffron used Swiss Dots for the inside back of the card.

Last of all I cut the "Hi" from the wildCard Cart and used my "X" to add adhesive and adhere to the card.
I really like how it turned out...Loving my Gypsy and Cricut!

Spring Berries; Super Stash Day

This time of year I just bide my time waiting for the Strawberries to start showing up in abundance at the stores..I love them and they are a sign of Spring for me.

Today when I saw the scetch I decided to go look at my stamps and this strawberry jumped out at me..It seemed to be saying,"why dont you use me more". As I was digging the ink Out I thought gee, I think I saw some of these already stamped in one of my small stash drawers..sure enough stamped and already ran through the Xyron "X". I decided I am only going to use pieces of scrap today so that is what I did.

The Image is from SU: "Sweet & Sassy" inked with Pixie Pink and Appricot Appeal. I used SU Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal and Pixie Pink from my Shoe box of misfit sized scraps,and surprise when I was digging in there I actually found the card base all folded and waiting to use also!...hmmm...I dont know how that happened!;)

The rhinestones are a few that happened to be left on an almost used up pack of K Co., Brenda Walton in assorted colors and sizes.

The ribbon is from a Michaels value bin I picked up a yr and a half ago for the pink themed girls camp I did. I used my Cuttlebug and embossed with thier Victoria & Swissdots A2 Folders. On the base panel of CC I used QuiKuts; "Retro Diamonds". It kind of looks like those Green Strawberry baskets doesn't it...I hope you Like it..I made it for SCS: sketch challenge SC267.

Valentines 2

I finished up my Valentines..and they are all boxed up ready to send. I thought I would show you a few more styles the same colors and things were used as the last post. I did use my Fisker corner punch onthe first one..love the pretty corners.

Valentines 1

I have been working on Valentines today..

I should have a few to post this week.I need to make 8 that I need to get in the mail right away.

I finished 3 tonight but couldnt get a good picture of the one, I will have to try again tomorrow.

I used Embassy Black, GP White and Pastel Pink cardstock. The Ribbon is Offray Black satin organza 5/8 and Gingham Black and Pink3/8 all from Walmart. The image is SU: Polka Dot Punches .

I used cuttlebug's "Floral Fantasy" A2 folder to emboss the pink cardstock.

EK Wrought Iron and MarvyUchinda double corner punches were used on the corners. It took along time to trim and insert the pink panel behind the black wrought iron corners, but so worth the time. I like the way it looks like a heart shape.

One image was stamped in SU:"Pretty in Pink",and the other image in Versa Mark. I then heat embossed with black embossing powder from a small 5 pack tower. I used my Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an H2O painter to piant in Pretty in Pink, Real Red and Regal Rose.

A Frame By Anyother Name

I have been trying to get around to making this name frame for over a month.

In Dec when I went to see DGS#1 I took my Gypsy with me to use when I had free time. Like when my DD and DGS#1 rested and when I wasn't holding him.

I had picked up 3-3$ frames from Walmart, hoping to make a frame for my DD and my parents and IL's for Christmas. Well everything got so busy I never had time to make the frames. I used a PaperCo. Primary Pack I picked up at Michaels in the fall, Embassy:Basic Black and scraps of I believe SU: Basic Gray, and Going Gray...The SU Designer Paper I picked up last Summer and I cant remeber the name...sorry...If you absolutely have to know comment and I will go find my old catalog and look for it. I was originally going to use the back side of the paper but thought the little clouds went perfect with the little plane...maybe I should add some grass and water for the truck and boat...hmmm...

I love that you can layout a whole mat of cuts and then trim the CS to exact dimensions and place it on the mat where you want it all at once. After Cutting the pieces out I removed the excess from the mat with the Hook from the Cricut:tool kit...then I run the small pieces through my "X"... Xyron. Then I remove the film and excess adhesive from around the edges using the same "hook". The Font is from Lyrical Leters Cart and the Toys are from one of the Mickey carts... Swirls from Graphically speaking. Its been a while since I made the LO so I cant remember where I got the toys from ...give a Grandma a Break!!!LOL

Hoot of a Birthday

I really needed to get this card in the mail...I send a card every year to my DD's Roommate from college she just loves getting them... well her BDay was the Day before my Grandson was born so I was very busy and int he hustle and bustle of the wedding and holidays I plain jsut forgot to make and send a card. I reassured her last week I would get it in the mail. It is all addressed and will be going out tomorrow. This card accomplished alot of other goals for me also. Like using this "Latte" DP from DCWV that I picked up almost a year ago...I just love the colors and because I picked up so many stacks..since they were on sale I didn't even open it until today. The stampset well its an Owl set I picked up in Sept or Aug right before all the wedding hype. It has only been used once...seriously this is why I have my NY Blog Candy Goal(check it out) so I can use my stuff...! and thirdly to get some challenges done..this is SC 266.

I used my Perfectly Paisley Cuttlebug EF on mySU: Perfect Plum panel How perfect is that! I used my 3/4" and my 7/8" circle punches to punch the Heart piece that is on dimensionals centered on the circle pattern on the DP. I colored the image with and H2O painter and my WaterColor Wonder Crayons. Image and sentiment were stamped in "Timber Brown" StazOn on GP white cardstock. I alsoSU "Chocolate Chip" cardstock for matting.

I've Got a "Burg Crush" on You

well I tried my best to come up with a clever name formy Combination Challenge Card for CC256 and SC265. What I came up with is the title for this post...the color combination was Bravo Burgandy, Crushed Curry and Basic Gray. I dont know how well I like these colors together; The burgandy & curry look great ((Go Minnesota:Maroon and Gold!)), I just think I would prefer a brown tone instead of the gray. All and all though I think the card turned out nice. I also like this Sketch from last week...its never too late to participate right. The ink used is a Yellow from a Chalk Pigment inkwheel sponged over a "Fancy Flourishes" border and a little piece of white thread from between some pom poms because I didnt have white cord...and I am Using my stash. I attached the cord by punching 2 1/4" holes in the heart base and tieing a knot and then fraying the cord. I used white Detail Embossing powder and Versa mark to add the sentiment. "Victorian" & "Swiss Dots" were my Cuttlebug Embossing Folders of choice today love that texture. MS lattice Arch Border Punch was used on the Burgandy piece so I lowered the Strip a bit more than the sketch. I also used that "Fancy Corner" 2"x2" EF again and cut out one in BB and layered it over the one cut from CC using a Quickie Glue pen then adhered it to BG with my ATG. Lastly I trimmed it by hand leaving a border and mounted it on a Zot 3d dot.
