Sweet Hello!! Oops!!!

Hello, I really need to let you know what 3 days of little sleep can do to a person in a week. It leaves you in a real fog. I've made a similar card to this one and I chose it because I needed to get the swap done and in the mail, and I knew I would be tired when I got back from picking up DD#4. Prior to leaving town I picked up paper from my SU demo just to make the cards and I bought just the amount of paper I needed. The first chance I got(10:30 pm) I went into my craft room to make the cards. I Opened up the drawer and(gasp) I discovered one whole piece of Apricot Appeal cut up at least one fourth of it gone.( amazingly no one will confess, one DD actually told me I probably used it and forgot...grrr)!!!
I only bought enough to make six cards, so I am another day behind. I ran to my demos house the next day, at least an hr. round trip if you factor in talking time. I went in my craft room this time at 11:30 Pm. I knew I had used a background stamp and I stamped the background in canvas with Regal Rose. (Gasp...) I thought this looks bad that is not the look I remember at all. I was left with only 6 backgrounds( the exact # I needed) for the cards I did not want to run and buy 3 more pieces of paper from my demo and be another day behind. I made the card as best as I could without its usual flair, which by the way came back to me as soon as I finished assembling the last card. HINT: Usually I stamp the canvas background on Apricot Appeal with Apricot Appeal ink and not Regal Rose, As my DD's would say... DUH!!!
It's finished and in the mail! I hope you & the Swap like it. It's a simple card, but I love the spring colors of it.

Supplies:
SU Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery & Regal Rose,
SU Stamps: Sweet Shapes & Sweet and Sassy,
SU Classic Ink: Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal, and a Certainly Celery Marker.
I used an aqua painter to paint the strawberry with Regal Rose reinker, it is mounted on a dimensional. I also used Aleens Paper Glaze to add depth and shine to the berryseeds and the leaves. A SU paper piercer & template and white gel pen were used to add faux stitching, a MM Baby Boy Button Brad in Celery was added to the "O" in Hello.

I'm Back!!!

I meant to leave a message that I was out of town for a few days but I forgot.
Now I am back and caught up on things so I will post a new card I made on Monday.
I was really busy last week making the scrapbook. I posted. Then since I have been home I have been finishing getting things back to normal in the craft room. I am almost all caught up. So i will start posting regular next week.

17 April 2007

I made this journalling scrapbook
for my DD friend's Birthday.
We are doing a couple of pages inside.
Today I assembled and bound the book with the Bind It All.
I used 3/4" coils.
The cover was decorated using
George and Basic Shapes Cartridge and my Cricut.
This was a fun project. We can't wait to finish embellishing it, and adding some more details inside. We hope she likes it when we give it to her.
The little blue strip of paper is hiding some personal info.
I can't wait to scrapbook some more pages of my own.

My Crafty Space

Some resemblance of familiarity is coming back to my space since I finished painting. I still have the inside of the closet to finish painting, and a need for some shelves. I do have it under control enough to appreciate my supplies again. I like the new color of the walls. I am glad I can go in the room and work on a project if I choose.

I did do one crafty thing yesterday, not much but I did paint a spider web on my DS#1 Derby Car. He has a Black Widow theme. So here is the car. Isn't it great. The race is coming in a few weeks so I'll be reporting on that in my family blog.

Painting Painting Painting

The 3 walls in the room are painted and 1 wall needs one more coat. The closet needs to have the top emptied and painted the bottom half is done. The room should be back to normal, what ever that is, by Saturday evening and I should be able to create in it next week. Yeah....

I am looking forward to doing that. I am hoping the beautiful walls will be inspiring, because when I looked around before, all I could see was all the stuff that needed to be touched up and painted.

I will post a picture either late Saturday night or Monday Morning.
Yeah..... looking forward to being finished.

My 1st Squash Book

I signed up to do a Squash book Swap (I think there is still room & time to sign Up) at SCS ,and I had a lot of fun making these little gems.
I just forgot to make one for myself. They are meant to have pictures cut and mounted in them like a scrapbook or a mini -brag book. I think any grandma would be happy to show off her Grandbabies in style with one of these.

The cover is made by covering 4" coasters with decorative paper. I got my coasters from Starlit Studios Ebay Store. A very reasonable price if you don't want to order 1000 from american Coaster Co.! I used the Polka Dot stamp sets &Jumbo Wheel from the SU Spring mini Catalog. The paper colors and inks are from Stampin Up also; sage shadow, lovely lilac, ballet blue & a hint of perfect plum, I used various Circle punches and also my Cricut to cut 1" circles of white. For bling, I used one hero arts gemstone, in the center of joy. The ribbon is a 1$ spool from Michaels. I love it when I can find those great deals, and I loved making these fun books.

The blank purple triangles on the inside is for journaling and adding information. Pictures cut as small triangles can be added over the purple and blue so they become the mats the Purple and green Squares are used the same way. You can use these as brag books or for vacation memories, or anything special you want to remember. I hope you enjoy them.
I need to get back to painting so I can get my Room back in order. I want to create some more fun stuff to share.
**** I also wanted to thank Kirsten for the lovely "Nuggets" I won naming her blog candy last week. It was a fun contest. Please visit her site I 'm sure you will love seeing her designs also

09 April 2007

Well we survived Easter. The Craft room is a mess, Finished the squash books, need to take pictures still, Painted a little over 1 wall. It does need a second coat, hopefully not a third. Hopefully I will get 2 walls done today and be able to move stuff tomorrow. Hopefully by the end of the week I will all organized and caught up. So my blog can be back up to its old self. Should have waited to separate it off. Well back to the painting.

Comfort among Chaos

Well, I am off to pick up the kids. Can you believe it. I am so far behind it's not even funny.

If something could go wrong this weekend it did, so nothing except absolute neccessities got completed. I did get to go to my SU demos and do scrapbook pages on Wed night but I have been to busy getting nothing done. I will post them later tonight just so I can feel like I accomplished something this week.

Take care everyone, despite all that's going on I am reallylooking forward to Easter. I really just had to prioritize to get everything done for that instead of all my projects. I think everyday is like that. i am so thanful to be as blessed as I am. I am thankful for my Savior & his Sacrifice.
Life can only get better, and go better so Have A Great Easter!, and next week I'll be abck on track with my Blog, right!?!

Painting

Sorry I have nothing to post today as far as projects. The one I started yesterday is only half done. I made a 3.5" circular notebook with my cricut and Bind it All. It looks cute so far. I am just waiting for the first layer of glue to dry.

I am going to paint part of my craft room today I am so excited. I bought the neatest color of paint. Kilz Luminescent. I think I am going to really like it.

I want to paint my Master bedroom this color, but thought I would experiment with my little craft room first. I want the DH to decide if he likes it before I move everything in the master bedroom to paint. I am going to paint half the room today then move everything and hopefully paint half the room tomorrow. Wish me luck!

New Blog

I wanted to separate my Paper Crafting from my other blog. I was thinking people from SCS would prefer not to read so much about my wonderful family and wade through the post to see the craft items, and stamping.

This will take a few weeks to do. I have a DVD I am finishing up this week. My kids went away for a few days so I am going to go shopping and enjoy myself. Paint my craft room or one of the kids rooms, or both, while the little hands are away.

I will post something new when I get it made, because I'm sure I'll take a break from the computer to do it, and until then my SCS gallery has everything from the other blog in it.

But I figure with in 2 weeks, I should have both blogs set up the way I want them.

Sorry for the temporary inconvience.
