Hello, I really need to let you know what 3 days of little sleep can do to a person in a week. It leaves you in a real fog. I've made a similar card to this one and I chose it because I needed to get the swap done and in the mail, and I knew I would be tired when I got back from picking up DD#4. Prior to leaving town I picked up paper from my SU demo just to make the cards and I bought just the amount of paper I needed. The first chance I got(10:30 pm) I went into my craft room to make the cards. I Opened up the drawer and(gasp) I discovered one whole piece of Apricot Appeal cut up at least one fourth of it gone.( amazingly no one will confess, one DD actually told me I probably used it and forgot...grrr)!!!
I only bought enough to make six cards, so I am another day behind. I ran to my demos house the next day, at least an hr. round trip if you factor in talking time. I went in my craft room this time at 11:30 Pm. I knew I had used a background stamp and I stamped the background in canvas with Regal Rose. (Gasp...) I thought this looks bad that is not the look I remember at all. I was left with only 6 backgrounds( the exact # I needed) for the cards I did not want to run and buy 3 more pieces of paper from my demo and be another day behind. I made the card as best as I could without its usual flair, which by the way came back to me as soon as I finished assembling the last card. HINT: Usually I stamp the canvas background on Apricot Appeal with Apricot Appeal ink and not Regal Rose, As my DD's would say... DUH!!!
It's finished and in the mail! I hope you & the Swap like it. It's a simple card, but I love the spring colors of it.Supplies:
SU Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery & Regal Rose,
SU Stamps: Sweet Shapes & Sweet and Sassy,
SU Classic Ink: Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal, and a Certainly Celery Marker.
I used an aqua painter to paint the strawberry with Regal Rose reinker, it is mounted on a dimensional. I also used Aleens Paper Glaze to add depth and shine to the berryseeds and the leaves. A SU paper piercer & template and white gel pen were used to add faux stitching, a MM Baby Boy Button Brad in Celery was added to the "O" in Hello.
cute card! I think it looks great even with out the canvas background. I am also in the swap and I hope I get one of your cards!!
