Bleached Upsy Daisy

Like I have been saying all month. I have had to make a lot of cards but have gotten a little behind posting them to my Blog. I posted this card to SCS the day I made it for the CC231. The challenge was to pick a color of card stock stmap it with Bleach and then use the color that shows up as the other color and make a card. I chose to stamp Upsy Daisy on a Piece of SU "Soft Suede" And thought it matched closely with "So Saffron". I chose to use White as my Nuetral. I had the strip of Soft suede left over after using a border Punch on it so I added the thin Strip on the

So Saffron panel after using my Swiss Dots EF in my Cuttlebug. the Sentiment is from SU "Teeny Tiny Verses" and I punched it out with my SU Word Window Punch..I have been doing that alot lately! Lastly I cut some Offwhite Jaffray picot ribbon and sponged it with "So Saffron" reinker...It seemed a little too Dark so I sprayed it with some stamp cleaner and sponged the excess moisture off it. I think It turned out nice.

Princess Cuts for DD

I was busy all afternoon cutting these princesses out with my Cricut Cartridges: Dreams Come True, Happily Everafter, and Tinkerbell & Friends.

Again they were cut out at 3 1/2"...DD wanted a Princess Chore Chart...tomorrow we need to figure out the background...I dont know if I will have time to post it before I leave to take them back to college, but we will see..This week is looking really busy..

"Belle Birthday" for Julia

I used my Cricut to make a Birthday Card for my
nieces Birthday. She loves
"Belle"! I chose to use my
"Dreams Come True" cartridge and cut Belle3 out for her! Tiny Princesses are definately a challenge. Her lips and the whites of her eyes were so tiny. I cut her out at 3 1/2"!
I usually don't cut them out so small, but it did need to fit on the card. I chose to use a gel pen to dot the one eye and the lips... all of the other pieces seemed to be manageable.
For cardstock I used: the white (leftover from the wedding announcements..it is ultra smooth and similar to Whisper White), "Black"and a "Yellow" both fromboth by cardstock package Ampad from Wal-mart Stationary, a brown from Paper Co Nuetrals package purchased at Michaels. Just a note on the "yellow",I tried using other Yellows like So Saffron and Barely Banana and Summer Sun but they didnt quite go together to give the "Belle" look... this one worked perfect with SU "Yo Yo Yellow" which I used for the trim. Her flesh is a beige' pink I picked up in single sheets at Michaels. Her lips a lovely Ruby Red. I think she turned out very cute. Behind her I used Certainly Celery and my Stylized Flower Embossing Folder. I then used Martha Stewart TearDrop pads in Dandelion, Melon, Bamboo, and to sponge the light color on the background. Then I used my Fiskars Squeeze Corner punch to dress up the corners. The Picot Ribbon is jafray and was tied around the panel before I attached it to the black base. I used my SU Word Window Punch and "Teeny Tiny Verses" to add the sentiment stamped in "Jet Black" StazOn. The white layer is mounted on Dimmesionals and a KCo. gem stone in light yellow was added.
Last of all, I used my pink 1/2" Bind it All corner rounder on the card base corners.

Card For a Friends Mom

I told a friend I would send her mom a card...She was recently injured and needed some surgery, and a little pick me up.

I had this card base around from a previous stamping attempt and hadn't given uptrying to make it work. You'll have to let me know what you think. I am still not too sure of it myself.

The sentiment is from SU"Kind Thoughts", I punched a mask from Post it note and then stmaped the SU "Pocket Silhouette" image on the Very Vanilla base in Really Rust and Summer Sun, and Timber Brown StazOn. I am really starting to wish I had bought the ink pads for the in colors but I am very happy there are some alternative colors that come very close.

The base of the card was embossed inthe Cuttlebug using "Floral Screen" and Timber Brown StazOn, was sponged on and then lightened with bleach in a few places sponging also...Previeously I was planning on using this with a Bleached image card. I used a circle Stencil made by punching a 1 3/8" cirlce in card stock nd then sponged circels using my Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry Reinkers. I used soft suede to mat the Cardstock panels, the "just My Type" border set was used to put dots on the Crushed Curry 1" strip. The Martha Stewart punch was used to add the "Lattice Arch" to the mat trim. I used my Cricut George and Basic Shapes Cart to cut the Circle and Shadow at 2-1/2 " and then embossed the Dusty Durango piece withthe "Friends Forever" embossing folder. The Card layout came from SCS SC240.

Sympathy For a Friend

I needed to make a Sympathy Card for a friends Family. I decided to use my DCWV "La Creme " Designer paper. I love its flocked images and the subtle amount of color seemed perfect for this card. I trimmed the flocked images for the back panels and matted with Black. I tied the black Jaffray Picot ribon around the one panel and trimmed it short felt it needed little something but not too much the short knot ed ribbon seemed to do the trick. I looked through my Cuttlebug folders and found this Fancy Corner Folder and thought it went well withthe Flocked flowers so I embossed it and then rubbed it with a Midniight Black Dew Drop...I added the little pearl to the center, and some sponging onthe edges and matted wth Black Cardstock I picked up at Walmart in the stationary section. The sentiment was Stamped with "Jet Black" StazOn and comes from the SU "Kind Thoughts" stampset. The layout for the card is courtesy of Roxi and her Sketch Challenge SC241 posted on SCS.

Melon Berry Card

I have been busy naking cards for a few days...I have so many August Birthdays with my friends and Family.

I created this Melon Berry Card for SC...LSC232...

I really like how it turned out. I did wish I had some of the SU Melon Mambo Polka Dot ribbon from SCS but I havent purchased any..still trying to use up some of the old Stash...so I chose this hot pink Offray ribbon from last years Camp creations. It goes pretty well with the Melon Mambo.The challenge required using a Edible Item or image with eating, and using Cardstock with food int he name. I used the new In Color Melon Mambo and Certainly Celery. I knew I wanted to do a strawberry. I looked at a few and decided to go with my old Papertray Green Thumb...image.

In my head I was goignt o use three images but decided on just one. I used my new MS punch Lattice Arch...I have been picking it up and putting it back for about 2 months and finally jsut said to heck with it and bought it..I love it. I added the D'vine swirl cuttlebugging after I decided the green would look like the top of the berry instead of a green basket like they used to come in. I thougth th eSwirls looked alittle like the ones in the stamped image. next I ran the melon CS through with Swiss dots...to mimic the Berries on the berry. I debated rubbing with white craft ink but decided to keep the image cleaner. I usually smudge when I try to sponge a bit.

The sentiment was stamped with Pink Passion also...I opted to only buy reinkers and an assorted pack of in colors from SU to save some money...I think I need to buy me a few stamp pads when I get some birthday money...After stamping the sentiment I punched it out with my SU scalloped Sqaure punch then lined up the oppsite end three scallops down and punched again to give me the cute rectangle...

White Ellie Box

I opened my Ellie Box! I waited about a week. Now we are well into week 2 of waiting so I am anxious to use some of the wonderful things she sent me. Rather than make a list I took pictures..they are good for a 1000 words each right!




First Picture is of the beautiful card she sent me, I love the colors in it they go so nice together.



This little figuring of the dancer is so perfect. I will always think of Riley when I see it. I put it up on the shelf with my other female figurines I do have a few. How did she know!







The next picture is of all the goodies..Lots right I totally love it I will use it all...







The last picture is of the white elephant in the box something silly and not quite wanted...I am thinking this must be the item, but I am unsure. I dont think I remebered to put one in mine.



So if its not the White Elephant gift I am sorry!

God's Beauty: for beautiful cards

I was so excited to get this set. I hadn't been able to have a show to earn hostess points this last year because life was so crazy. I mentioned to my friend "Wendybell" on SCS that her cards made with this set were so pretty...and how I missed out on getting it because the catty changed. She had an extra set and sent it to me. isnt she a sweetheart! I just love everything about this set, especially the butterfly! one of my early Aug birthdays is my MIL so I made this card for her. I used Very Vanilla,Real Rust, So Saffron and Always Artichoke for cardstock in this card.

First I embossed the butterfly in black on the VeryVanilla and stamped the "Birthday Celebrations" form "Upsy Daisy" in Jet black StazOn. I used my H2O painters and so saffron and Only Orange reinkers to colro inthe butterfly.

I cut the Always artichoke strip and then used my SU scalloped border punch to trim both sides of it. I sent it and the So Saffron background piece through the cuttlebug using the textile embossing folder and one of the borders from the "Just my Type" set. I mounted the Butterfly and sentiment with 1/16th EK success squares Dimensionals.

Birthday's for the Boys

I need 6 masculine Birthday Cards for the first 2 weeks of Aug...I was feeling a bit overwhelmed because I started working on them Aug 1st, some of them are going to arrive inthe mail a little late. I decided to make 6 of the same card! Did I ever mention I hate coming up with ideas for masculine cards!

My girls were at camp all week; it made me think of my "bear" from the "Under the Stars" SU Set. I love to water color this bear with H2O painters and my Watercolor Wonder Crayons..I love those things..I used Chocolate Chip, More Mustard and a bit of Creamy Caramel to ground him. I need to get where I cut out a few little mask for the teeth so they stay nice and white, or vanilla in this case, especially if I do 6 cards! I got a little lazy with the painting. I use a very thin color and keep adding more on the sides I want shaded darker until I get the color I want. I am pushing and pulling the color depending on how wet it is and sometimes the pushing gets a little sloppy.

For the cardstock I chose to use the new Dusty Durango...(I really like this color), Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip. For the "bear" panel I chose to cut the Chocolate Chip about 3/4" longer than the image. I used my SU paper piercer guide to mark the edges of the cs every other hole starting one hole below the image. I wanted the SU linen thread to stay separated and be more defined. I then used my 1/8th circle punch to punch abt a half of the circle out on the edges where I marked withthe piercer. I really like the linen on Masculine cards. I used Very Vanilla Cardstock for the base of my card and all the stamped images...I think I have been doing that alot lately. I sent the Durango and the Artichoke through my cuttlebug using the mosaic and Leafy Branch folders. The sentiment comes form SU "Teeny Tiny Verses" set.

Anniversary Card

I have been busy making cards all weekend...In our Family August Celebrations are almost like celebrating Christmas. Between all the anniversaries and birthdays I needed 17 cards. I will have a few blog post to share with you this week.

One of the favorite cards were the Anniversay cards. I used the DCWV Designer paper I have been hoarding a beautiful black & cream with whites, grays and a nice black flocking on several sheets in the pack.

Its called "La Creme",

I needed 3 cards so I used the bottom half of a 12x12 sheet to make the 3 cards I needed. I used a light golden tan from a neutrals card stock package. I either picked up at Michaels or Walmart years ago it seemed to be the perfect color to go with the yellow tan on the page. I also used cardstock from a package of Black I bought in the stationary section at Walmart to mate the designer paper. Again ,I am trying to use my stash as stated earlier in the year. I also cut 1" strips of the black to emboss with my textile folder in my Cuttlebug, I managed to emboss all three strips in one pass. I used a strip of the dp from the top section of the 12x12 sheet and cut it at 1 3/4" and used my SU scalloped border punch and then layered the black 1" strip on top. I then layered a piece of 1/4" picot vanilla ribbon on the top third of the strip of paper and then layered it on the flocked bottom of the designer paper.

The last thing I did was use my Cricut "Storybook" cartridge to make the sentiment background. I used the Cricut Design Studio (CDS) software to layer two of the same tag on top of each other and then stretching the shapes to get a shadow effect I wanted. The Lighter layer was a piece of the same Designer paper. I then Stamped the Mr&Mrs Sentiment from my taggers Dozen Stamp Set white my Jet Black StazOn Ink. I enlarged that area of the card to show you some of the detail. I hope you like it what do you think?
