Its Friday Already?!!!

I dont know where the week went really...its beena busy crazy one...I found some time to create today so I made a couple cards using the same colors and a variation on the focal image. I decided to combine LSC174 with SC182...

On both cards I cut the GP white cardstock to 8.5x 4 1/4 then folded it in half to make a 41/4 square card. The Barely Banana Piece is 4 1/8 square. The Mellow Moss squares in both cards are cut from scraps with my 1 1/4 square EK punch. The small white quares I rolled my Vine JumboWheel on my Mellow Moss Ink Pad and then rolled it on White then stamped in Pretty Pink the small flower from Paint Prints. the yellow center is done with A dcenter from a different flower set. seems I didnt have any erasers on the end of a pencil to use

...Imagine that....the squares on the frist card were cut at a hair bigger than 1 1/8th, on the second card they are cut at 1". The first card used scraps of a baby girl Pink Pack I got at michaels and the second uses scraps of Regal Rose...

I used MM green brads form an earthtone set I picked up at Target. the Pink Button Brads are from a Baby girl set I got at Target a while ago.

On the first card I used the solid stamps to stamp the image masking the leaves and using a ticket corner punch. On th esecond I stamped using the outlines and painted with Watercolor Wonder Crayons in the Soft subtle colors.. the Pretty in Pink was very light so I switched to a Pixie Pink to do the background around the flower and leaves on the second card...

I hope you like them...I even managed not to use my Cuttlebug...LOL

SC181 Challenge Card Lavendar Frienship

I made this card for a friend, and for my SC181 Challenge on SCS...I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the Black and Lavendar Lace pieces with D'vine Swirl and Swiss Dots...then I used my paper piercer to make the holes I used to sew the waxy flax through. I really like how it turned out..I thought I had enough DP, but when I went looking for something to put in the background I couldnt find anything to go with it. I finally used my Petals Jumbo Wheel and Lavendar Lace Ink to roll the flowered background. I then added a little color using my Watercolor Wonder Crayons in Nuetral to paint the dots and dashed circles in the two gray colors. I matted the Lavendar and Black with White card stock and then used my silent setter to punch the holes for placing the 3 MM lavendar Rivets. When I finished with the rivets I matted with Black. The double matting helped make the Main image and Embossed pieces stand out, and I like the black behind the riveting instead of the white. The friendship sentiment from "Think Happy Thoughts" was stamped in SU Basic Gray ink, and the flower from the set in Lavendar lace. I punched the iimages out with a 1-1/4 and 3/4 circle punch and then matted with black, cut with the 1 3/8 circle punch, and mounted on dimensionals...as an after thought I think the Small flower maybe could use a lavendar matting also, other than that I like how it looks and I hope my friend does also.

It may seem like I am on the ball lately making a lot of post but really I was on the ball a few weeks ago... This week I have been busy organizing and shredding old documents. My craft space and some other spaces in my home are starting to look really nice. This is the last of the cards I made in early June. It was an anniversary card for another friend on SCS. I used a Rust from the Michael's buy an Eco pack, I told you about it last month, for the background. I mounted it on a white GP cardstock base after assembling. It is a top fold card. The ribbon is a Roberts Craft buy I made a few years ago when I dropped my DD off at college. It is an organza in a dark brown. I tied a bow of SU linen thread to soften it up a bit. The flowers are from Pretty Amazing stamped with Going Gray and mellow Moss for the stems. the flowers are painted with Watercolor Wonder Crayons using a fine point H2O pen. using Summer Sun and Pretty in Pink. I matted with a Burgandy from the same Eco pack.

I used the flower MM brads in a Earth Tone color package, I cant remeber the name, but the colors are very much similar to SU EE colors. The vellum background was embellished with Birds and Swirls, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and then I colored the popped up flowers with a Summer Sun marker and the Birds with Real Rust. I used a SU Ticket Corner punch to add some extra detail. The Happy Anniversary is SU Real Rust marker on the Michaels $ bin Clear Stamps, that I have been using on all my Anniversary cards for June.

happily Everafter Card

I made this card for a friend for her Anniversary.

I used the Cuttlebug Textile folder to Emboss the white GP cardstock. then I chalked it using a Rose colored Chalk and a Cotton ball It is actually much pinker then it looks int he picture not sure why that is. I matted with Regal Rose and basic Black and put it on a White cardstock base... I used Fairytale Wedding to stamp"..and they lived happily everafter." in Regal Rose and then stamped "Mr&Mrs" in Basic Gray over the top after stamping off once..it shows up a little darker in this picture but I think it was a nice Effect. My tag punches werent long enough to punch the quote so I improvised. I cut the white GP tight to the Quote and then inserted it throught the back of my tag Punch (sm) to trim the edge. I matted with a piece of Regal Rose and the n Trimmed withthe large tag punch inserted through the back. The organza ribbon was a white I dyed with Regal Rose a while back and opted not to use...I tied it to the card and tied the tag withthe Black satin Cording... To help tie it all together I used three small Pink and Black sprinkle brads from Queen Co...

Challenge Anniversary Card

I really liked this LO for SC179 on SCS when I saw it. I tried some new stuff when I was stamping. you might have to click on the picture to enlarge it to see the details better, but I will try to explain them.

The first question I asked myself was,"Can bleach go bad?" I wanted to stamp the little flower images from "Fairytale Wedding" on the Light Blue strip with bleach so they were white...well no go, the images would not appear...... I took the whole sopping Napkin of bleach and pounched the paper with it finally getting the light cloudy images on the Blue. I stamped the image with SU Basic Gray Ink and the trimmed the strips to size...I have used bleach before so dont ask me why the flowers didnt work...The last gallon is finally gone so a new bottle will be tried next time. I took the same color of Light Blue and then stamped the "Happy Anniversary" sentiment from a Michaels Dollar find. Then I embossed it in the "Diamonds in The Rough" Cuttlebug folder.

I used two Queen Co. Black Brads from "Kissy Fit" to add some depth. I free handed the Dots on the Black full card background with my Sakura Clear Glitter gel pen(only the part showing on the top)..then embossed the Rose from "" on black using White Craft Ink and Kaliedescope Clear Emossing Powder.

I think the card is very pretty...The only step I should probably have done was cut a white circle out with my Cricut to mat the black Rose Image to help it Pop...It was mounted on dimensionals and I think it still turned out great.

Dragon Fly card

a friend of mine on SCS sent me this card front to make into a card she said to dress it up and use it.

My first thought was this is perfect as is...but I decided to add anyway..My first thought was to disassemble the back Rust panel and Cuttlebuged it, but I couldnt get it apart. She used some very good adhesive.

I then decided to pierce the yellow strips and use my Sakura Stardust gel pen to add some shimmer... then I trimmed the Rust and then used a Very Vanilla base and sponged with Mellow Moss like she did on the tag...I used it for a Birthday card for another SCS friend...

Another Fathers Day card

For any of you last minute card makers out there..Like me I amde this card today for my FIL for Fathers Day...I still need to make one for my own Husband...I used Mellow Moss Choclate Chip and Very Vanilla for this card the Moss was embossed with D'vine swirl and the Chocolate with Distressed Stripes..It looks like a tree doesnt it...

The squir is the smae as the last Fathers day Pop up card I made.

I used my word window Punch for the Moss tabs with Creative Impressions matte brads in brown. I stamped the Happy Fathers day and Were Nuts for You with individual letters and then mounted them ..out side they are on dimensionals.

Pretty Amazing Cards

I stamped these images a few weeks ago, and made the first card then for SC177.
the first one was for an anniversary. I meant for this card to go in the oposite direction, but I made my panels too wide and it threw off the whole card. I used PRetty in Pink and the canvas background and Cross hatch with Mellow Moss.
the outer panels are matted with Mellow Moss and the image panel is stamped in basic gray for the flowers and sentiments from wonderful words and Taggers Dozen. The leaves are stamped with Mellow Moss. I made this for a friends Anniversary. I used Lilac button brads for accents to bring out the lilac colors in the flower images... and then Pink organza and Moss rickrack help tie all the panels together.

The second one I made tonight for SC180. what a difference frequent stamping makes in being able to make great cards. I used my cuttlebug and Swissdots and Paisley to emboss the Moss and Burgandy cardstock...I love the added texture. I used Chocolate Chip to sponge the edges of the white panels. the different layers were layered on dimensionals. The brads were added to cover the basic Gray floral astriks form the stamped floral Image fro m Pretty Amazing... this image was laying around from when I made the previous card.
I like how it turned out and my friend will like it for her birthday also. What do you think?

Black and White Card

I wish I had a better picture of this card to share... the silver colors really picked up the light of the camera, which they dont do in real life... it is really a more subtle card.

It is also hard to see the white 1/4" organza ribbon over the silver ribbon, but it is there.

Yes I have went over board on Button Brads lately but I just love them. I think they are so fun... I made this for my Brother and SIL's 25th wedding Anniversary. I love to add a little red to black and white cards so I free hand colored in the tie and wrote 25th on the Anniversary sentiment in Real Red. I matted the sentiment and image with Basic Grey and used a Platnium Dew drop to put shimmer on the edges. Basic Black was Embossed with the Cuttlebug "Textile" folder.

This Anniversary Stamp set was a Michaels clear stamp dollar find...

Father's Day Pop Up

I was so busy today, mowing the lawn and making cards trying to catch up...I only needed 3 more anniversary cards...

Before I went to make them I sat and Chatted on SCS..well tried to chat my friends werent there, but thankfully someone mentioned making Fathers Day Cards...it totally had slipped my mind that Fathers day was on Sunday..and I have one card to mail.

So after finishing my Anniversary cards..I'll post them another day...I made this Fathers Day card...Using the TLC172 challenge on split coast and making a simple Fathers Day card...

I used Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip and a small amount of Matting with Mellow Moss. I used the Jumbo Swirling Leaves wheel to stamp the Backing and the pull out. I stamped the squirel, with Timber Brown StazOn.., and water colored it with my crayons in EE Really Rust and More Mustard colors. The brad was MM from a set I purchased at Target in Earth Tones..I used my "X" zyron to put adhesive on the rick rak. I also embossed the folding flap with Swiss Dots Embossing Folder..


I like how it turned out..You can find a Tutorial for a Pop Up card on this Challenge Thread at Splitcoast Stampers. this is the card not opened. Very simple looking, and hope fully masculine enough.

Happy Bird-day Card

This weekend I borrowed my SIL 700$ camera and boy now all my card pictures look so sad...

It's too bad I make cards and take pictures at night and upload them then when its quieter around my home..But I am really seeing all the problems with my camera now...Ithink a new camera will be in my futre someday...not really soon, but I am definately feeling the need for one...

I made this card for a challenge and for a friends Birthday! I did a different sorto f cut withthe card though. I folded it up from the bottom about

1-1/4" and then folded down from the top...





I embossed the top panel with D'vine swirl, and then the Chocolate Chip piece with Swiss Dots...the top panel is held down by the orange picture tab...I like how it turned out and it was fun to make. The birds are from "Zoofari" I love coloring the animals in this set...I used my markers on the birds..Summer Sun, and Only Orange, I also added some grass at their feet to ground them, the sentiment comes from "Small Sayings ". All the images were stamped with Timber Brown StazOn. The orange swiss dot ribbon is a spool from Michaels, and some Making Memories Orange Primary brads round out the supplies.

Happily Ever After Cricut Card

I decided to finally use one of my princess carts to make an Anniversary card for a friend. She had mentioned a trip to Disney World so I decided to use the die cut of Cinderella dancing with her Prince. I cut the image dies at 4" and the sentiment at 2 1/2". I used the flesh color of the prince first liked it but decided it was too dark and so I cut it again on a lighter color I had for Cinderella...I think this really worked to make them look better. I am not going to tell all the colors I used, because it would take to long. This is a Half Fold sized card, because I had an enclosure I needed to mail my friend, this could have easily been made to fit a tall A2 card using a smaller sentiment and over lapping a bit.

I forgot to take a picture inside the card but I did cut the castle out also at 4 " inside the card. The sentiment was shadowed in balck and the sentiment cut in Light blue and then the layer of the diamond in the dark blue and then the top layer in White. I colored over the cut out using my clear Sakura Stardust gel pen and then drew fauceting ont he diamond also to give it some shimmer. I used a marigold color for back ground to make the blue colors pop and then pierced a triangle in all the corners using the SU guide. The main image is mounted on dimensionals.

I told my friend this is a fall apart card...I used very little adhesive on the Sentiment and the castle so they can be removed for scrapbooking a page.
I must complain a bit about my "Happily Ever After" Handbook. Putting it together always takes some trial and error, but looking at the little 3/4 " image to figure out which colors go where was really difficult. I had to use a magnifying glass to get the arm, and hair pieces done, because they were very difficult to see in the sample picture because it was so small and becasue My eyes are aging. It was however fun to use my Cricut and "Happily Ever After" despite my failing eyes...

Big Blossom

I was telling a friend how I use "Big Blossom" with another circle stamp set for the center like a button...She wanted to see a sample. SO I made this card for one of the Anniversary cards I had been working on. Can you believe I dont have the word Anniversary on a Stamp...I need to do something about that. I have also been wanting to do a simple card with less layers...Sooo

I inked up "Paisley" backgrounder and kissed Big Blossom to it, Usually it works really nice. This time I think I used a bit to much, Pale Plum because some areas look like they slipped, a bit. I placed Big Blossom on the folded card base and Wal-la a paisley flower. I used Going Grey marker to faux stitch around the flower. and Perfect Plum to stamp "Happy" from "Happy Everything", and hand wrote Anniversary. If I had known I didnt have "Anniversary" I would have printed it on the cardstock with my printer before stamping and cutting the cardstock. Summer Sun and "Big Pieces" was used to stamp the flower center. After I used a paper piercer to align the holes and I punched them with a 1/8th circle punch. Tying small piece of Plum grosgrain ribbon through the holes, knotteind and mounting on dimensionals added the finishing touch...

I think it turned out really cute...now to find the word "Anniversary"!

Welcome Number 2

Have you ever had one of those days where you dont feel like doing anything and you dont feel like yourself. Well that is the kind of day I am having...

The colors for this post are pretty much the same as yesterdays...basically used the same materials except I used a mustard for accent instead of the Ruby Red and a different Sketch Challenge SC176 to make the card...
I did use some linen thread, and the Textile Embossing folder for a changed look...No torn paper but the same sentiment inside as yesterday.

Another Card

I was excited to see this sketch on Splitcoast because I wanted to make another tall card, and I never seem to take the time to figure out how to cut it and how to use my cardstock. It just seems easier to cut the cardstock in half one way, or the other. This was a tall sample... The directions said to cut it at 8 x 9 1/4 and score at 4" and 3/4". Funny thing though it never said how tall the card was so I wasnt sure if you did it at 9 1/4" high or 8 " high. I did it 8 high..

I also ended up having to trim the bottom to fit it in an envelop. next time I'll figure out my own measurements I think.

I used scraps for this card also. except for the DP. I stamped in Timber Brown StazOn...I really like the Brown with the Earthy colors. I colored the bird using EE colors and my Aqua painter, using ruby red and More Mustard the most with a touch of Close to Cocoa, and Old Olive on the branch. I cut the strip of Mustard Cardstock to the width I had scored on edge and folded it back and attached it with Super tacky tape...after embossing it with my Divine Swirl folder. the seam where the ends of the folder met after doing two passes is behind the scalloped circle. I decided when making this card that someone need to make a 1-3/4" circle and square punch. because I can't cut a circle that size with any of my punches or my Cricut without using the software and I didnt want to do it for one punch...so I just used my 1 3/8" SU circle Punch. The scalloped circle was an extra one I cut a while back on my Cricut. The Real Rust circle is matted flat on the scallope and the bird image is mounted on dimensionals. The red brads are from last falls, scrapping sets from Targets Dollar Spot...I felt the red on the bird needed some help popping on the card. I tore the inside edge of the Real Rust as a strip and mounted it on the edge of the card and used a pen to add faux stitching to the card. "Welcome" is from SU's Warm Words set and the inside sentiment is from Small Sayings...

Masculine Birthday

I have been catching up on sketch challenges I am behind on. so I should have several post the next few days.

I needed a Masculine Birthday Card for my BIL, and sketch SC175 for SCS.

I had fun I like the way the red circle halves turned out. I think I should have written bolder the Happy Birthdays around the edges..you can see them if you look close.

I embossed with "D'vine Swirl" and "Swiss Dots".

It took me a bit to decide what color to mat the image from "Wildlife Reserve" with, but I settled on Old Olive. I used a bit of linen thread to tie around the base, I almost used soem brads but decided to pass. I colored the Elk/deer with watercolor wonder crayons. I used the EE colors. I love them for coloring images and they seem like they will last forever..

Birthday Wish

I made this card a few weeks ago for a friend and forgot to post it...maybe we can set a new record for post the month of June since I have been making cards like a mad stamper to get all caught up. I used my cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" and "Dotted" folders on the Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip cardstock. I used Chocoalte Chip to stamp "Big Pieces" On the Bashful Blue cardstock, and the sentiment from Sincere Salutations on GP white. I used my sakura gel pen to add faux stiching and MM mini button brads I picked up at Target either "Baby boy" or "5th Ave" Colors.

I am really liking the 5th Ave color set...
