Final Cards for the Year, I Think

Well today was a busy catch Up day. I finished packing stuff up for my trip and making some treats for neighbors and a few Friends at church. I decided to make some quick cards to go with them. so in a few short hours I made 12 Cards for them and 2 Anniversary cards. I took some picktures to share..they are quick cards. I am thankful for my Cuttlebug which helped make it possible.
I also sharpended a few of my new Prisma's and used some mineral spirits...I've been waiting a couple of months to sharpen them. I used my old camera because the new one is packed ready to go. so the pictures were not the best.
They are simple but I hope you like them . I think the Anniversary cards were a little rushed but I need to get them in the mail before leaving. I hope the rest of your 2008 goes well...Mine will be really busy..I'll post some pictures when I get back if I get a chance.

Until later ... Happy Stamping!

Merry Christmas Cyber Friends

Pinks and Blues

I made quite a few Birthday and Anniversary cards for Dec. on Sat.! I havent found time to post. I thought I would take a few minutes to post them, sorry they might lack some info. I used my cuttle bug and SU Pocket Silhouettes and Wonderful Words.
I am so sorry that set is being retired. I stamped with clear embossing Ink and used Black Embossing powder on all images.

Then I began to play.

I either used
Pink Piruoette or Baja Blue for color. All the cards have Black and GP white. Most of the ribbon is Offray I purchased at Wal-mart.

2 of the cards use the DP from Me & My big Ideas"modern Milano" I used on the winter anniversary in my last post.

I finally had a chance to use my filigree brads set also. I glued down the large one and filled it with Clear tacky glue. The small one was secured to the cardstock with the ribbon.
I hope you like them they were simple because I dont have a lot of time.

I cant believe Christmas, the Wedding, and the reception are creeping up on me so quickly. I am so NOT ready to travel across the states in the winter. I hope we have better weather next week coming up...

Until Later ...Happy Stamping!

A pair of Anniversary Cards

I needed to make some Anniversary cards I never realized so many people get married in Dec., until now... I did the Technique Lovers Challenge on SplitCoastStampers this week, number 199 to make a starburst out of the Tag punches from SU. It was a fun thing to do and I think it turned out great. I made it last night talked to a friend on the phone while I cut the assembled Star burst out. She recommened the white It turned out great. I used my martha Stewart fern/pine bough punch I am loving it... The Directions can be found HERE, its fun.

I used Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, and GP White. I shaped the circles with my MM Circle cutting system. I stamped MR & MRS from Taggers Dozen in Old olive. I like how it turned out. Its off in the mail to my Friend now.

The other Anniversary Card is also off in the mail now. I used Festive Favorites I liked how the two snowpeople in the center were looking at each other and thought I think I'll try it as an Anniversary Card. What do you think? I think It turned out cute, I also wrote happy Holidays inside. I got this great ribbon Set inthe mail a MM holiday assortment it had the great Snowflake trim so I used it to Accent the card. I cut out the "Couple" and raised them on dimensionals. I used glitter piant to frostify the snow and make them look "magical". the DP is from an assortment I picked up at either Michaels or Target...by Me & My BIG ideas, called Modern Milan. I have been using it ona few cards lately that I need to post still. It is so nice finding some time to Stamp...Its been FUN!

Until Later...Happy Stamping!

Cards...I made some cards!!!

Tonight I finally got to use my new stamp set from There She Goes. I really liked the quotes and leaf patterns in her sets so I had to have...Butterfly Happiness... I also ordered a set of three Card boxes and covered them last Friday,...but I forgot to take a picture...heck I almost didnt get them covered...check out Jessicas Blog though she has some great samples there.

I used SU Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery, Barely Banana cardstock. SU Certainly Celery, Barely Banana and Close to Cocoa Classic Ink. I used MM paper distressing kit to sand and rough edges, and a torn sponge to age the edges with Close to Cocoa.
I also Used the SU Canvas Backgrounder to stamp the Barely Banana Cardstock ...sorry to see it being retired..I use it alot. I used Offray brown ribbon from Wal-mart and some striped I got from Target dollar spot a year ago, rubbed with water and Close to Cocoa ink.

I hope you like the cards.

The past few months have kept me extremely busy. This morning I completed my 6 dresses...I would bore you to death telling you everything I finished up in the last few weeks but it was a lot..I will post some pictures later.
Until Later ... Happy Stamping!

Awesome Autumn Antics

During October I participated in an Awesome Antics Rak. I have been waiting to post the following for over a Month now...Since it is Thanksgiving I decided I would do it today.

The requirements required using the favorite fall colors of the recipient..I had a hard time with her colors Purple and Tan. This is what I came up with I hope she liked it.

I masked the Leaves from a Fall Folliage stamp set I got from a friend and stamped them with Timber Brown StazOn..then I colored with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and Water Color pencils. I used Perfect Plum to matte the image and I cant remember the color of the base I think it was Very Vanilla or Sahara Sand. I used Argyle EF in my Cuttlebug to emboss and I used a little Acorn brad I picked up at Target $ spot last fall.
We also needed to make an altered item, so I made 2. One was this gratitude coaster book.
I made it so my Acorn could write down things she cherished or was thankful for this Thanksgiving. I used some Fall papers that had some tan and Purple and bound it with my bind it all I added the Purple tags and scalloped edge for more of her favorite fall colors.

Second I made some vanilla bath salts in light yellow and purple.. I found a bath salt tin at Michaels and discovered the Circle opening was the perfect size for the new SU large Crcle punch. so I wrote Bath Salats on a piece of Paper probably should have used my printer and then punched and slid it up into the opening. I put her initial on the label. I hope she likes it.
I am still frantically working on wedding stuff. I hoep to make another post to show some of that stuff this weekend.
Until Later Have a Great Thankssgiving and may you find Much in your life to be thnaksful for and ...Happy Stamping!

More VSN

I have been neglecting my blog lately only because I have been way too busy.

I did make some cards for VSN I posted a few, but not all so I thought I would play catch up today.

I made these 2 cards for an Anniversary and as a thank you.
The first used the Merry and Bright snowman, and Wonderful Words stamp sets.
the second used the Merry and Bright Tree.

I used my Snowflake Embossing folder on both and Dvine swirls for the black panel.
I used my Scallop circle punch to round off the edge on my trees after trimming them close. The VSN was too make a geometric Shape...I was attempting to make the trees look like a snow flake. Its a 4.25 by 4.25 square card.

I used Jet Black StazOn for staping and water color wonder crayons for painting. I used GP White, Old Olive, Certainly Celery and Ridinghood Red for the second and GP White, Ridinghood Red, Certainly Celery and a Black for the first. I hope you enjoy them.

Sorry I am late in posting. Until Later ...Happy Stamping!

VSN

I went to bed Thursday night with a knot in my neck and a slight headache..It wasnt any better hwen I woke up on Friday morning...I finally found sometime to create and I was sore and having a lot of pain...UGH!!
I had a terrible day Friday morning a dead battery in the car and I took a fall down the stairs dont ask me how I still dont know...I went to the chiropractor and came home and took a very long nap...Still had a pain on Saturday another very long nap and on Sunday , church and a long drive to a Memorial Service for my friends' father passed away last week...

My neck has felt a little better each day since and today its relatively pain free which is a good thing...the other good thing..that despite sleeping the weekend away i still managed to make 4 cards that I think turned out very cute... today I'll post the Birthday cards I made for my niece and Nephew they had a party Friday that was a lot of fun for my little boys...I used some old SU retired colors that I am uncertain of for the card bases...sorry! trying to use up some old supplies this year...
I also made them for a few VSN things this weekend the pink one use the thumping technique and the green one for Chorus Line...three of the same image in a row...the monkeys needed to look like they were swinging through the trees...I used the swiss dots and Birthday words EF's placement was determined by the big birthday word running up the one side. the sentiment came from Buirthday Whimsy..the Pink one used Bitty Blossoms Backgrounder retired and markers to thump with color after the whole image was inked up with Certainly Celery. I matted the image with CC also and decided it needed a notch. so I punched it out with the 3/4" circle punch. the ribbon was a buy from the $ bin at michaels this summer. The cake image is from So many Scallops...Keep forgetting I have that set...The EF is Floral Fantasy. I adde the metal dimensional spot in White and put the scallopped punched out matting up on dimesionals...It felt good to maek some cards againt hat werent wedding announcements...LOL
I have two more cards to post tomorrow.
Until later... Happy Stamping!

Fabulous Flowers

My friend came over today and we worked on Silk florals for my DD's wedding... She did an excellent job...I wrapped a few wires to attach flowers...but she did all the work.Check out her Web site if you want more info about her business...
Flowers on 55 !

It is such a relief to be getting stuff done...and marking things off the mile long "To Do" list.

The flowers look very nice. My friend does such a nice job...here are some previews of them.

The corsages

The Bouquet

(it still needs some ribbons added)

and the bout's. I took a picture of the one rose that the little red had to be showing on it..Something silks hav eto make them look more real!

The fabric behind the Bouquet is what is being used for table toppers and accenting at the reception...It really makes the colors of the wedding pop.

The final picture is of the flowers on the cake knife and server...

Tomorrow I am picking up the engagement Photos for the announcements. Here is the picture they chose to use.

I need to trim them a bit and get them in the invites and then let the Addressing begin...

I did stamp a few images and use my WWC on them...so maybe I'll get some cards made to post soon I really need to get some hang in there and get well cards in the mail

...Until Later...Happy Stamping!

I did work on Vellum Cylindars to use with flickering Tea Lights..I wanted a candle look and we cant have real candles.

This week my friend is coming over this week and we are going to make the corsages, bout's and thebouquet out of these flowers. and maybe get some ideas to go withthe Cylindars I made.. Every week I seem to be making a little more progress.

Halloween Cards

Sorry about lack of Post...I have been sick for a few weeks and then I got the hives...really bad...I couldnt consentrate on making a card if I wanted too. Today I am alot less itchy so I am much better. I went to my Demo/Friends house and made a couple of Halloween Cards... One she had she had made at her uplines' meeting and changed it a bit. They are both very cute cards.

The cards used several techniques I like doing that alot because I get to learn new stuff.

The first card used masking, embossing, and sponging. It's Very quick card to make despite all the techniques used on it. We used Glossy White paper and stamped the Tree from SU "House of Haunts"with versa mark and heat embossed with black. We punched a 3/4 circle from a PostIt note close to the sticky strip so both pieces have adhesive on them. we sponge the circle moon in Yoyo Yellow. We used sponge daubers and Kiki Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Perfect Plum and Pacific Point after masking the Moon with the part of the circle that is punched out. After removing the moon if there is still yellow on the card use your original mask to fill in over any white with the yellow. The Perfect plum is rolled with the SU "Haunting"wheel. and matted with black and then a piece of Kiwi Kiss punched with word window cut it in half and use the halfs opposite ends of the strip and then use a Black brad after punching the hole with your paper piercer. The Tangerine Tango piece of card stock with the SU"Sanded" backgrounder then stamp "Happy Halloween" sentiment with Basic Black. The tree image is mounted on dimesionals over the strip of purple.

The second card is made with the same stamp set the house image being stamped on Watercolor paper in Basic Gray ink. We used Yoyo Yellow and Pumpking Pie markers to color the windows and moon. after coloring spray with water and let the colors run a bit. Mat with Tangerine Tango and then use the picture hanger of antique brass hardware. and tie with a piece of avacado , black and Tangerine Tango grograin ribbon mount on dimesionals over the "Ghostly Greetings" DP.

Pretty in Pink

I made this card for a friend. I love how the coloring turned out I used pretty in pink Blush Blossom and Pirouette Pink to color the flowers.. from "Embrace Life" I am really liking the simplicity of these flowers... I like how the "swiss dots" embossing folder helps make the image stand out with out over powering it. I happened to have this little pink gem stone I got withastamp set I picked up at archivers I thought It went so well withthe flower image I used it to dot the eye. I thought more flowers would be toom uch for the image so I used little button brads...I would have used gem stones that were smaller butthe color of my pniks didnt match. Is it okay to mix and match embellishments on one card...Ihope so. I love the Pink Pirouette & Basic Black cardstock together...I think this color of pink is perfect for baby girl stuff I cant wait for more free time to use it again...

This is the last of the cards I managed to make last week before I got sick. I do feel alot better today so hopefully I'll be back to normal or even better soon...

Until later ...Happy Stamping!

Ridinghood Red Bday card

I really like this card..I love the colors(GPWhite, Riding hood Red, Basic Black) and I love how the cuttlebugging came out. I colored the crab from "Fishy Friends with my H2O brush and my Watercolor Wonder Crayons using RR colors. I printed the sentiment up on my computer and then Punched it out with my SU circle punches...I love how the ribbon turned out also just wish I had some of those sute Spellbinders shell die cuts those would be cute on it..but Probably too much for my BIL who this card is for... Hope he likes it..
Until Later... Happy Stamping!
I hope to get some craft time tonight I am feeling much better today so far though last evening was the worst...glad I was able to make so many cards made last week before I got sick...

Fishy Friends

SO I didnt get back to this post yesterday...I made this cute card for my nieces Birthday. I had fun pulling out this old set to use...I used the new InColors of Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Pointe, Baja Breeze. I used my Bubbles cuttlebug love it withthe fishes and D'vine swirl. Used my watercolor wonder Crayons to paint and a few crystal gem stones for bubbles....
Hope you like it...as well as my niece.

UGH...Ways Not to Use It

SO have you made a card and tried so hard to make it work and everystep it just went down hill...Thats what I did today...I wasnt even going to post it but figured even our failures cant get the best of us and we all have them...so Ugh here goes....
I used Pacific Point and GP White Cardstock I fully inteneded to only use these two colors..but I wanted to do Ways to Uses it Challenge"Charmed, for sure I went to add the little teardropcharm, but it wouldnt lay flat so I added the blue and raspberry Ribbon to add the charm to get a better lay withthe charm. I think I should have used white. I had to add the Pink scallopped edge since I neeeded more pink couldnt leave the ribbon on with out it..Quickly went down hill from this point...I used 2 scalloped Circles andTwo Circle to concoct the sentiment panel, then decided the Blue needed something so I added the Heros Arts gem stones in Pink and a Brenda something Pink gemstome to i in wishes...
then decided after it was all together the Sentiment panel needed sponging withthe Moonlight White also...Well you can see the results...Oh I used cuttle bug folders for the border and background and Sincersalutations for a sentiment...
Until later ...Happy Stamping

Kiwi Flower Kisses

I really like how this card turned out. I made it for a friend. I used the triple flower stamp from One of a kind with Kiwi Kiss Ink, and the sentiment from Upsy Daisy in Basic Black. The cardstock colors SU Kiwi Kiss and Black(Mike's assorted Nuetrals pack) , mounted on a Very Vanilla base. I am loving this Black 1/4" piq. ribbon I got at Walmart. I need to get more... I bought it for some halloween cards! I trimmed the Black cardstock to about 1 3/4" and then used my SU Scalloped Border Punch. I used my hand held Flower punch( metal old and dont know the brand Similar to Fiskars) and punched out the little flowers to glue to the Scallops with my Sakura glue pen. I could have just punched the black but I wanted the dimension. I used a paper piercer to adjust them to center.
What Do you think?

SC 195, Berry Happy Birthday

I made this card for SC195. I had made these strawberries a few weeks ago and then didnt use them on a card I have another one in Different colors. I chose the card colors because of the Strawberry, Ridinghood Red, Kiwi, Kiss, Black and GP white. I was really thrown by the challenge because of the big panels I felt DP would make a great card but I wanted to use the In Colors and I don't have any to go with it yet...I usedmy Divine Swirl, Dotted Swiss and Floral Screen Cuttle Bug Embossign Folders on the panels. I matted withthe KK and then added the stitching with my Basic Black SU markers. I stamped the image in Basic Grey and then colored with my colored pencils and then dotted the BG dots with my signo gel pen in white. I used my Su various sized circle and Scalloped punches to mat it and then adherred it with EK Success 1/16" dimensionals..Love the thickness keeps the card thin for mailing. The Sentiment is from Upsy Daisy.

Until Later ...Happy Stamping!

25 September 2008

Birthday Dots

I wanted to use my new Upsy Daisy stamp set for a friends Birthday Card..I used Baja breeze because its one of her favorite new colors..Not sure what I think of it, maybe I tried too many new things. I used My new Scalloped Square Punch also...I used Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip also...I tried repeatingthe sponging tech nique the other day, using Pacific Point I wanted to make a mono Chromatic card, but the flowers never looked right so I switched to Chocolate Chip after finding this old ribbon in my stash...It's dots made me dot the scallops that I added becasue the space needed something and I couldnt find a DP that I had on hand to go withthe colors so I Punched the squares and cut them on the diagonal...I added dots with a Signo Gel Pen, and a Chocolate Chip marker...
I think it turned out cute not my best work but I hope my friend Likes it!
Until Later ...Happy Stamping!

24 September 2008

Baja Bird Song

The color Challenge this week is Very Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze...I managed to have all the colors Yeah!!! I managed to make a card tonight..I am not quite certain what I think of it(tell you why later)...its growing on me a bit...I used my new Stamp Set from ,"There She Goes" to stamp the birds in flight...they worked really nice!....I was going to stamp flowers on the card panel opposite the bird , but when I looked at my stamps the birds in flight looked like they would work wonderfully and they did.
I really need to make some sympathy cards and use more of the set ,but I am catching up on some welcome cards for the RAK group I am involved with that somehow I omitted doing...I used my Cuttlebug and "Bird Song" EF to make the baja panel, I cut the panel and punched the scalloped edge first. I then sponged the front with Kiwi Kiss over the grass and Baja Breeze on the bird and edge. I cut a second strip of Kiwi Kiss and then punched it with the scalloped Punch also layered the piece and adding a strip on the outside edge of the card. I then pierced the kiwi pieces. If you click on the picture you'll see it better. I then stamped the Very Vanilla with "Inspired By Nature" loving the grass by the way...This is the part of the card I am uncertain about; whether mixing the grass was a good idea... What do you think? I stamped the sentiment from "Best Yet" on Vanilla. I had intended to place it on the vanilla panel with a blue scalloped square around it and it looked funny so I shifted it to the baja side of the card and ditched the extra scallopes. I guess sometimes you can have too many scallops...

Let me know what you think...

UNtil Later...Happy Stamping!

22 September 2008

Swirls for a friend

I tried doing the limited Supply Challenge, andI guess I just couldnt successfully limit myself, LOL I added an extra color. I like how it turned out so I thought I would share it with you.

I used SU "", and Autumn Leaves Flourishes. The colors I chose are Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Mellow Moss. Cardstock is Baja Breeze, Going Grey and GP White. The Ribbon is from Mikes $ bin and the Brads are from a LSS, and are K co bought them last spring. I inked the stamp with Baja and then wiped the stems off and colored with Mellow Moss. The image piece is mounted on EKsuccess 1/16"dimesionals. Love the saying and decided to just over lap them I think it turned out great. And "look ma..." no Cuttlebug.

Embrace Life Anniversary Card

I really like how this card turned out.
I needed another Anniversary Card. I have been wanting to use my Embrace Life set and made this card. Its a basic Layout I like to use. I stamped the imaage with Timber Brown StazOn and painted with Ruby Red WWC and aqua Painter...I used Chocolate Chip and Cute Converse for the sayings Punched with my #/4" and 7/8" square punches. the ribbon is a chocolate Chip and White I picked up at a LSS. I used two gem stones on the panel. and raised it on dimensionals.
I used my Textile Embossign Folder on Ridinghood Red cardstock and then lightly brushed Galaxy Glod Dewdrop ink pad over the top of it... Hard to see in the picture unless you enlarge it, by clicking on it.

Sorry! SC194

I got so busy yesterday sewing badges on a new scout shirt an dvest I forgot to update my blog with a card I made on Wed. for SC194.

I had quite a bit of fun with this card...I colored the color direct onto Inspired By Nature flower side with my Watercolor Wonder Crayons in EE colors. then being too lazy since I only had alcohol in a spray bottle I squirted it with that and stamped the image on GP White Cardstock. Then I used my fine H2O painter to blend the colors in and get rid of the lines inthe image. I then used my painter to add some darker lines in More mustard and Old Olive to make more details on the stems and Petals I like how the image turned out. When I uploaded the card on SCS I thought shoot I should have taken the sewing machine out and stitched the seams..Probably why I decided to sew the scout shirt yesterday...LOL. I used Mellow Moss, More Mustard, Real Rust and Chocolate Chip for the pieces and the foloowing embossing folders with my Cuttlebug:Flower Screen, AutumnWords, Bird Call(grass on the bottom of the card), swirls and Birds... I stamped "Wish" from small sayings in Chocolate chip on More Mustard and punched it out with my Word Window Punch...The panel is raised on Dimensionals..This was fun to make need to make more cards with this stamp I am loving it!

All "SU" Technique Cards

On the third week of every month, I get together with my demo and make some technique cards. This time she showed me some techniques she learned from her upline so I thought I would share them.
The first card had an interesting circle spiral technique that was very fun and cute. She didnt have the newer larger Circle punch so we used the 1 3/8" punch you cut the circle in a spiral. Inspired By Nature was used for the "Grass" and Flight of the Butterfly, for all the other images. Whisper White, Pacific Point Pumpkin Pie and Kiwi Kiss were used for Cardstock Colors. The spiral was adhered to the card by adhering a glue dot behind the butterfly and then a dot on the oposite of the circle center and placing in the card so it stretches out when opened...I hope you can figure it out from the pictures very fun technique. I can see a larger circle would let you make a better placement. You should try it. you cant see it but a second butter fly is attached to the spiral.

The second card we made uses Upsy Daisy...and sponge daubers. First you stamp the entire image in a light color we used Pink Pirouette. then you dauber the image..with two colors we used Ridinghood Red and Tangerine Tango. I got my stamp to far to the left and then restamped, so my suggestion make sure you have the stamp right where you want it... LOL

I like this technique and will definately use it again. the other new thing I got to try was the New Oval Punch. The large oval was then folded it over the matted picture and then Punched with a Crop A Dile through all 4 pieces of card stock like butter...so nice. I need to get them some day. The cardstock is Ridinghood Red and Pink Pirouette, and Whisper White. I really like the look of this technique I'll need to try it again.
my suggestion go try some new techniques you'll love them.
Until Later ...Happy Stamping!

They're Finished

I learned a few things making all these cards tonight first, I cant count! and Two pay attention to the fold one was assemble upside down...LOL. I got the cards all assembled and I was short 8 Bears...I did stamp them and paint them so I finished up the project I am so happy...so it turns out I only needed 31 cards and not 32. I decided to tweek one up a bit and make it the way I would have if I wasnt mailing 25 of them. I distressed it and added some Button Brads...I was in a hurry so I forgot to put the compass picture on a dimensional something I surely would have done...I talked about the sentiment and Painting in a previous post.. So I will just say I used my Scallopped edge Punch, Scallopped Circle Punch, 1 3/8" circle punch and corner rounder punch. I used Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip for cardstock and GP White for base and images stamped in Jet Balck Stazon. and distressed with a sponge using Chocolate Chip. I twisted a little bit of gold wire to add dimension to the compass spring, and two making Memories button brads from the 5th Ave color set at Target. I like how it turned out. The other Picture is the stack of the more mailable version I am sending everyone else ...

Working on Thank Yous

I have been working on 32 thank you cards for some Young Women who helped me pull off a five mile First Aid Hike at camp in Aug. I am a little late but I have been waiting for my new stamps to come because I ordered SU "Under the Stars". (pg 111). It is a very cute camping set with darling images to color. I thought I would let you know I am still working on them feverishly(little DS is sick) so I can make a post..then I'll be back on a regular schedule of Posting and Creating, Until I start my Christmas Cards which I am way behind on also...

For a Sneak peek here is what I have so far.
I stamped all the images and "Grrreat" with Jet Black Stazon, and the "U" and "R" with the new in colors Kiwi Kiss and Tangerine Tango. I used my Watercolor Wonder Crayons to paint the images...The "Compass" with Pumpkin Pie and Green Galore and the "Bear" with Chocolate Chip and More Mustard. This morning I have been trimming the Sentiments and Using my new punches(Scallopped Circle and Scallopped Edge) to punch out cardstock. I am trying to decide if I want to cut the "Bears" out...so far they are trimmed to 2.5" x 3". I guess now I need to get back to work on my cards, or laundry.

New SU Catty Card

A month ago Some friends on SCS decided to have a contest to guess the colors of the new SU Catalog Cover. Nobody guessed white, but we all came out winners...each of us then had to make a card for someone else in the group..I got a friednin CA and this is the card I made for her. I decided to make a true Catalog card and used my Cuttlebug stuff to make it... I did use an expired SU stamp though, and Going Grey and Baja Breeze cardstock...Loving these colors together. I used Flower Screen, which I am really liking, to emboss the face of the card. I like how it makes a little border if you center it correctly. Then I used Frills Scalloped edge on a strip of Baja Breeze I then added a yhin strip of Going Gray to accent it and trimmed it narrow. I used my 1/16" circle hand punch to punch out the center dots of the embossing and trimmed close to the edge with scissors...I want to try this with my new Scallopped edge punch when it comes next week. I stamped "friend" from an old SAB set from 2007. and then used Circle punches and Scalloped circle punch to make a flower. Lastly I used my Cuttle Bug Butterfly Die cut and embossing trio to emboss two butterflies and then I layered them to look like they were in flight

I Punched a hole with my punch and used a brad from my latest MM brad set for the head...UGH I cant remember the color but they look great with the new in colors. Several of them are close matches. I stuck one Zot small glue dotint he body area Bent the wings up and then used a few on the back to adhere them to the card. I find Zots glue dots work really well to stick the embossed pieces together.

Sympathetic Sketch Cards

I have some friends at church who recently lost a son and brother, he was very young ...It seems always a bit harder to find the right words to express your sympathy in cases where someone dies at such a young age..cards and gestures sometimes just seem inadequate...
In an attempt to make some cards I realized I need some Sympathy Stamps, so I ordered some from my friend who has a new stamp business and I thought I would share that link with you...Her stamps are very cute and I am sure you will be seeing them in cards all over very soon she has an excellent design team and stamps began shipping this week... Her Blog is There She Goes and has a link in my side bar..Her stamp co is There she Goes LLC... I hope you'll check her out. This is the set I ordered Here For You. Check it out her blog has some beautiful samples using her4 stamps and Dollar Find Friday (no link just wanted to high light it) is a big hit on her blog...
My First card I called Sympathetic Breezes, because I used Baja Breeze, Basic Black and GP White.
I used my Cuttlebug embossing folders...Just My Type(zig zag) and With Love (flowers). I sponged the edges and pierced the zig zag for a little detail and then layered the black cs on top...I wrapped the card with a black satin Ribbon and stamped Thinking of you with Stazon ink. I like the final touch of Blaack button MM brads..Simple fun card..I got thte sketch from SC189.
The second card used Amelia's SC190, so fun... Its her first ever sketch..Way to go Amelia.
I used a scribble Heart stamp by Rubber stampeed and a sentiment from All Year Cheer 1.
Older stamps, but Like I said I was stretching to find Sympathy stamps...I used someSU DP from last years Catalog, and some olive colored paper, The olive colored is from an assortment at Michaels in fall colors and I embossed it in the Floral Screen Embossing folder. I had to angle it so that just the tips of the paper extended past the folders. The Gems are froma variety set given to me by a friend. I sponged the edge of the circle with So Saffron, after cutting GP White and Lovely Lilac out with my Creative Memories Circle Cutter. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray and the Heart in Lovely Lilac after being stamped off once then raised them on dimensionals..I think it turned out cute...
