My Deepest sympathy

I fifnished my second

sympathy card...I used the "Here For You" stampset from There She Goes again!...I really like how the image and background turned out. I used some chalk pigment inks I was given by a friend a few eyars ago. they seemed to spnge perfectly over the black heat embossed image. WHen I first sponged I filled almost the whole car with Yellow and then over sponged withthe orange. Starting with a sun shape and deciding that a sunset background might work better.

I matted with my usual Black Cardstock...thinking I was originally going to pierce the black paper to let the orange show through, but opted to use the little pieces of MS Lattice Arch instead. The orange piece...feels like SU but I cant remember the color...was embossed with my "Victoria" Cuttlebug folder. The sentiment was heat embossed also and I used my Zutter 1/4" corner rounder to round the two opposite corners. I wish I didnt feel so rusty still because my cards are looking a bit simple, but I am so happy to be Stamping, again.

Until Later ...Happy Stamping! Dont forget the "Resolution Blog Candy"

TSG Sympathy

I needed to make a card for my friend whose brother died recently. I love There She Goes sympathy stamp set, "Here For You" the little sentiments on it are beautiful and meaningful. I need to make another one for another friend in the same situation today, very sad to lose a sibling. I just cant imagine that kind of loss.

I used SU Barely Banana, and Cuttlebug "Birds and Swirls" Folder and sponged a bit of Midnight Black Teardrop ink pad. I used GP white and Embassy Black both from Walmart. I used black embossing powder and from an old multi color stack I got somewhere..and heat embossed the sentiment and bird image..The image is done on Vellum and then turned over and colored with multiple yellows from the Earth Elements and Soft Subtles...after coloring them in strips I sponged and blended with some stamp cleaner...

The brads are from multi color sets from Queen and Co., I figure the brads needed to be shiny to go with the embossing...

Until Later ... Happy Stamping...

PS...dont forget the Resolution blog candy post..I actually browsed the craft isle today...

Toot,Toot For JD

I have been trying to make a challenge card more regularly for the SCS challenges. This card is my effort for the LSC254 posted on Friday. to make a card with a Palindrome. I chose "Toot" and instantly thought of my 1 month old grandson. so I made him this card on the inside I wrote "look who's 1 mo. old!" and recorded some of the wonderful changes that have occurred in his short life..Like the fact that his parents have probably become experts at changing diapers!

I used my Gypsy to layout the parts for my card. The train from the Disney:Mickey & friends Cart. I cut the base in Black and Blue and the layer in Yellow....and used Tear Drop to cut out Toot in Real Red. after assembling the Train I fiugred I should have probably cut the layer in Red also to add a bit more detail but shoose to just add some stiching wiht my SU Real Red marker. Sponged the black layer and the Orange back ground with Moon Drop PlatniumPlanet..after embossing it with Metal plate...I adhered the Toot's using my "X" Xyron...I alwasy trace the image with a pointer tool to remove excess glue form the edges before transfering it to the card.

***For those of you waiting for me to "fail" (see New Years Blog Candy Post)..I am still succeeding, andI am using a lot of my stash...no spending yet!, but thinking about it everyday....I discovered something I might be needing before too long...new 12x12 mats for my Cricut.. I forgot how much I used them making the favor boxes in Nov & Dec. I had wanted to buy some Aleens' Tack and Tack again Adhesive to try refreshing my mats, but haven't bought any yet. I did have some spray adhesive on hand so I used that instead...in some places I got too much adhesive on the mat.. what a mess, but it worked....so I am wondering how long it will last.

Until Later...Happy Stamping!

Hearts for a Friend

I needed to get a card off to a friend, and I have been wanting to use Chocolate Chip and Pink for a color combo for a valentine. I am so rusty at card making I feel making announcements and over a hundred favors has let my card making skills get rusty...

I have been trying to get back inthe habit of making Challenge cards also so the Ways to Use it Challenge on Thursday was perfect and inspired me to "cut something out" which added a little bit to this card. I used my Cuttlebug alot the small flower is a CB die"flowers", the medallion is From their 2x2 called "Fancy Squares" and the SU:Pink Pirouette is embossed with Victoria and the SU:Chocolate Chip with Swissdots. The ribbon is some I picked up last fall from Walmart a double stitched Offray Grosgrain.

This went together quickly, I think I am still rusty on card making though cause I am not sure how much I like the way I did the sentiment. I like the little cut out doublelayered heart but uncertain aboutthe rest...I think My firend will like it though so it will do for now.

Until Later ...Happy Stamping!

Mission Farewell Card

My friends son left on a mission a few weeks ago...so I needed a farwell card for him...Its never to late to get these kind of cards in the mail.

I used PTI: Heavenly Medley stamp set to stamp the image in Timber Brown StazOn. I then colored it withmy Prismacolor Pencils. I used some of my SU 1 3/8 circle punch and scalloped circle punch to make the focal point. after adhering the image to the scalloped circle I trimmed the excess scallops off the brown matting. I then punched it with a 1/16th " circle hand punch to make holes for threading the ribbon.

My cuttlebug came in handy once again when I used Swissdots" and "D'vine swirls" to emboss the Cardstock. these 2 are must haves for anyone who uses embossing folders. my MS : Arched lattice border punch really helped add a little extra Umpf to this card.
Again remeber to go comment on "My New Years Resolution Blog Candy"

Thank You's

Despite my lack of posting I have been making Cards. In th e last week I have made 25 cards...I just havent had time to post pictures...plus they were simple cards mass that I made multiples of using a different color of Ribbon or Cardstocks or embossing folder.

On of the sets of cards were Thank You's I made to send to friends and family that have helped in one way or another the last few months for the wedding and receptions.

I used SU:Certainly Celery cardstock, GP: white Cardstock, Offray Brown sheer ribbon(Walmart), and my SU "For a Friend" stamp set in SU:Chocolate Chip Ink. The background is a Victorian Cuttlebug Embossing folder I got for Christmas I love it ! I can tell I will be using it alot. Just a simple card but it really helped get these thank you cards made written and in the mail. I do have another New Years Resolutin to Post alot more Cards and Projects this Year.....

Until later...Happy Stamping!!

New Years Resolutions....BLOG CANDY

Well its been awhile since I posted. I have been traveling cross country visiting my New Grandson and handling the wedding and the Holidays. I think I am finally caught up, except for on my blog.

To Apologize for the length of time between post
I decided to have a contest this year!
It might take awhile to determine the winner, but it will be worth it if you are willing to wait. Every year I make goals of what I want to accomplish during th eyear and I often over reach and my goals end before the end of the year, but I do get alot done toward them and I still feel a sense of accomplishment. Last year I had a USe my Stash goal.I did pretty good, and used alot of my stash but not nearly enough. So this year I have been telling friends that I am not going to buy anything except Envelopes and White GP Card stock from Walmart. My friends tell me this is impossible, so I decided to make a contest out of it...I want you to pick the first day I will buy something for scrapbooking or paper crafting...the only exclusion being spending money I get as gifts for Mothers Day, My Wedding Anniversary, my Birthday and Christmas...also candy for putting in tins and boxes etc..is not included as a craft item.
I will give you one big hint..I do not spend money on Sunday...also I have already been talking withmy friend about the seasonal Mothers day Valentines and Easter cricut carts for 2010...so if you leave a comment with the day you think I will be finished with my goal for the year... whoever is the closest will win a nice blog candy...dont know what yet...but I will make it good! I will say a small priority box size... I will fill it with stuff and mail it to the winner. The only rule I will have on guesses is that only one per person. If the day you guess is passed then you can pick a new day. I will make a list of days at the end of this post and try to keep it at the top of my blog for a month. I will try to keep the list updated...I also will number more days if neccessary, but I really dont think I can make it through the summer with out buying anything. If I last til summer I will add more days later...so whats your Guess...Leave a Comment and let me know!!!
