Birthday Duo

I tried making a few Birthday cards the other day but didnt like how they turned out so I unassembled the panels becasue I liked them and thought I'll try again another day. Last night I sat down and just stared at my stuff...such a shame to come home from being out of town ...and feel like you left your Crafty Mojo on Vacation! Thisd morning after exercising I sat down again. and Walla I made the two Birthday Cards I needed for my Dad and BIL. I used the SAB stamp set Polkadot Punch Outs and One of a Kind. SU Ink in Pumkin Pie and Ballet Blue was used on GP Cardstock to make the Stamped layer. I used some old paperbilities Value pack Orange with Ballet Blue to mat and make the other panels. I think I am doing really well using up my old stash. I cuttlebug embossed with Dvine Swirls and Floral Print and then sponged with a dew drop in Moonlight White. I used Upsy Daisy for the Sentiment and raised it on dimensionals. The panels are different widths, but basically the cards are the same.

Wedding Card Ideas

A week or so ago I went to my Demos house and participated in a Wedding themed Card making Activity. She had done a few at her Demos and modified it a bit. I really enjoyed the Activity and liked the variety of items we made. Most of the Stamp sets are Sale-A -Bration items from SU. The DP was from the SAB mini Catty. We used mostly Whisper White and Sahara Sand papers and ink. I've made my order to get some of these SAB sets so I can make more of these cute items. My Demo's Site Shari's Cards and Stuff her uplines blog . The birds and bag CS covers are Sidekick Dies from SU. All items used in this posting are SU. I love the quality of their stuff and wanted to share these items while SAB orders can still be made...I will post a few tips but mostly just sharing the fun I had at my SU Demos.

The little bags in front were made with the Top Note Die using a small white Craft bag...I have seen these sold at Walmart. Cut the top half of the bag off and then attached the previously stamped diecuts. we used the new SU Oval punch to stamp one side then folded made a mark and ppunched the other side. The long card is a money holder onthe inside we stamped a sentiment and then Punched the large Circle punch hole and sponged around the edge. We also used glitter stickles in clear to enhance the bouquet. The new lacey edge punch is sure pretty. Its on my wish list...

6th Birthday Safari Party

I have been terribly busy the past few weeks but I have few post to type up and pictures to upload hopefully they will get done before I head out of town so you'll have some new things to look at..

Just for fun for today I though I would show the Party things I did. DS#2 had his 6th Bday Party today with his friends at school. We invited 7 people and 3 came..I think the morning school day time might have had something to do with it, but we still had fun and I personally enjoyed the smaller group. A week ago I stamped some invitations can you believe I didnt take a picture of them...UGH I used an Autumn leaves monkey hanging down.. They were really cute I had one extra that I RAKed to someone I am going to see if I can get the image emailed to me...if I get it it will be posted here...They were very simple because I had to make 8 of them...I used My Cuttlebug on them. I realized after making 8 I only needed 7 because I had to have supplies for my DS also...so I used the extra to make a RAK for my friend, This is the card I made for my friend. It is a bit different, but the Monkey and Green Strip matted with Brown are the same...I did use the yellow but only on the bottom half of the card and I embossed it with Floral Screen to look more "Junglelike".

I made gift bags to hold the hotwheels cars playdough and other fun party stuff in. I picked up some white lunch bags at Wal-Mart and Stamped them using Wild About You. I used Always Artichoke, Summer Sun, More Mustard, Ballet Blue and Going Grey. I made the tag using SSCS and White CS and Stamped the image with Basic Black. MY DD said they came out really cute. The Ribbon yes left over Wedding ribbon!, more stash being used up!

For party games I used my cricut and cut out some simple Shapes. After putting mask together the kids. First went Bowling for monkey's....I used brown a Mustard yello CS from Value Packs to make the monkeys and adhered them to empty water bottles with two glue dots...

Second we went to try to get Animals with little frisbees the kids stood ont he stairs and threw trying to get the frisbees into one of the cans, either an Elephant, Lion, Tiger , Zebra or Giraffe.

I used Animal Kingdom and a charcoal pencil to add some hightlights, and White Gel pen to color the tusk.
The last game we fed clothes pins to an Alligator. The kids really liked the games and played them over and over. I cut jsut the alligator head and stuck it to the side of a vase I had.
I have a few other projects I have made that I hope to get scheduled to post inthe next few days. For now I am glad to have the Birthday Party over.
I will be really glad when I am done scannign my pictures..It takes alot of time to get them all digitallized. I really think it will be worth it though.
Until Later ... Happy Stamping!

Featured Stampers Cards

The last 2 weeks I participated in 2 Featured Stamper Challenges of SCS for two of my Friends
...what fantastic Stampers they are...much less rushed and hurried than I am... GO take a look Click on their name to go to their Blog's the second link is to their Featured Stamper Post If you look at post #1 it has a link to theri SCS Galleries...
These are the two cards I made for their FS...
I hope you enjoyed them you can find links to the cards I

cased and details for making the card in my

SCS Gallery.

I used SU card stock for both , except the White is left over from making wedding announcements last fall...I got it at the local printshop it is Ultra Smooth but lighter weight than SU ultra Smooth, because I used it in a triple fold...I am using it for a base in fulfilling my reduce my stash goal for 2009...The jewelry beads and White 1/4 " oraganza are part of that goal also..

I used my QwiKuts die Tropical Flower for the larger leaves onthe first card. and my MS pinebough punch..I think that is the name...I usually write the name onthe punch with sharpie..somehow in my Excitement to use this punch last fall I forgot to write the name on it.
On the second card I was really out of my element I do not use Bold Brights colors very much, but I was craving spring flowers and Green grass etc. and it seemed the thing to do...not really one of my best attempts but still thought I would share it. If my Printer had not been low on ink I might have noticed the little leave print background on what I substituted the Gable Green panel for and it might have been Cuttlebugged..I think that would have really improved this card....Hope you enjoy them...
Until Later ... Happy Stamping!

Patient Pig Card

Sorry I havent been posting much part of the reason is that I missplaced my Camera Card so I couldnt take any pictures..I found it today..Yeah

I have also been tweaking a watermark for 2009 not sure I like it yet so I thought I'ld show it off and get some opinions..

I made this card a week ago. I used an image "SU :Farm Fever" I had colored with my Prismas a while back...
Card stock is Left over from the Wedding invites White..it is ultra smooth but a little lighter weight...and SU:Certainly Celery, Garden Green, Pink Pirouette, PinkPassion
I used my new Fiskars Corner Punch some Pink Drops and My Cuttle bug. I tried using a few swirl stamps but because of the LO I ended up doing them free hand...
so what do you think.

Watermark 2009

I dont know how well you'll be able to see it.I 've been tweaking Opacities and adding depth.

I am not sure if I want to bevel my Initials. I changed it to a JPeg to try to post but it has a white Background making it hard to see the Initials and Butterfly

Can you tell me what you think?
Okay I tweaked it again! I think this is the final version

Me & My Bright "Die"dea!

I have been having issues with Photoshop! I finally fixed the major problemlast night at 2 am. Now I can finally make a post with some of my cards. I actually have made a few ...hopefully I'll have time to get them posted. My friend Karen Hunsaker and I were chatting after her final submission to Spellbinders...I made the comment I know what I would do with the two dies..the scalloped heart and Butterfly. Mind you I dont own either of them. She asked what and well I did not have and adequate vocabulary to explain myself. I tried describbing to her what I would do to no avail, so the next day almost a week ago I made the following card. This was a see if I could do what was in my head card, since I dont own the spellbinders dies. I had to make due with my Creative Memories Star cut and my Cuttlebug Butterfly. here is what I came up with. Maybe Karen can use the SB ones and post a cse using the products I was picturing...(hint, hint) I used Baja Breeze and GP white to make the card.

I had to score the White piece of paper 3 times into quarters. I die cut 2 butterflies and stuck them to Clear Quilting thread with glue dots, after embossing them in the embossing folder.

I sponged all the white card stock with Baja Breeze, after embossing the out panels with textiles embossing folder. I did this card very quickly, and on a whim I could probably make a much better one if I took my time...(me shrugging my Shoulders).

On the Baja Breeze outer cover which I realize now I should have embossed. I had assembled it with out thinking everystep through. I stamped with SU retired Crosshatch background and clear embossed using Kalidescope embossing powder by Ranger. I made a small slit at the fold for the ribbon. I used Riveting and stamped the sentiment. I used an old scalloped circle lying around from the wedding favors...(keeping with my goal to use those old stashed items..yeah!) and mounted the circle. I love riveting! I need to remember to use it more. I added dots with my white gel pen and then slid it over the Ribbon and mounted it to the base with dimensionals. I also used my Fiskar corner punch again...my clearance find a few weeks ago.
PS...
I do think the SB scallopped heart would look so much better with this cut and embossed..I really do need to get me some nestabilities one of these days.
I hope you enjoy my card ...Happy Stamping!
