Karissa and Ryans Invites

Every once in a while it is nice to help someone out with the skills I have; so this week I helped out a friend by making some wedding invites for  her son and his fiance. They moved their date up by a few months and have not had the opportunity to get enough money together.  My firend asked if I could help out. I used Photoshop amd a free brush set I downloaded called DecorativeFloral Brushes:by Pixels and Ice Cream:   I get the brushes and other decorative features for using in Photoshop at Brusheezy, and Fonts at Dafont...English was used for these announcements.  I love having a computer and a nice printer when a friend needs something with a quick turn around.  I also used my stash to punch all the Scalloped ovals. Using up scraps from the wedding invites I made last year for my DD is  areal bonus. I dont know if I have any scraps of CC left...:) which hasnt been the case in over a year. I used SU Punches,  CB Swiss Dots Embosiing folder and  RGB codes for Certainly Celery and Mambo Melon. The lime ribbon is an inexpesive Offray satin .50 cents a roll with an Organza Strawberry ribbon 2.89 for 25 yards on sale.  SU Certainly Celery was used to mat the image..  The Postacrds and Registration cards were designed using an image designed in photoshop from the same floral brush set and  English font. The return address is printed on the reverse to help cut down mailing cost for the RSVPs.  I'ld like to say these were fun to make but when you make 200 of something a little bit of the fun wears off, but it was fun to come up with a design and produce the first few!

Spots and Dots Birthday Card

well finally after 3 attempts.
I made my CC318 Color Challenge Card for SCS.
I have failed miserably 2 times because I used either Peach Parfait or Melon Mambo on the last two...
I used my Cuttlebug Spots and Dots EF. I Havent used it in ages..I forget I have it. Tonight my husband asked me as I was putting this card together. "How do you remeber what you own?"...I said," I dont!"...so today this was like using a brand new folder.. Well thats my story and  I am sticking to it...;) I used scrap roses and leaves from my last card.  for other details please ask!

Easter Wishes

Happy Easter Everyone! Iwanted to give another go at the Color Combo Challenge for SCS last week. I goofed and used Peach Parfait last time. well this card was in the process of using only SO Saffrron, Pear Pizzazz, and Pretty in Pink, when I decided it really needed the Melon Mambo ribbon and roses. Can you call Melon Mambo a Neutral? LOL..I thought not!  I decided the paper flowers would be pretty  in a liitle spray on a card front. Every time I make these flowers I wonder if they would turn out just as good if I made them out of fondant and put them on a cookie or cupcakes...someday I will have to find enough time to try! This time I used my Scalloped Circle punch from SU. I really like how the scallops make cute little petals for the flowers. I used my MS leaves Punch  to dress up the roses.  I really like the So Saffron background Embossed with Victoria EF. The sentiment is from SU: Something to Celebrate Stamp Set. I love how this card turned out. I know My SIL will love it too. She always feeds us the most lovely Easter Dinner.  Making my Easters extra special. I wanted to make her an extra Special Card. I hope she likes it.  I hope you have an Extra Special Easter Also.

"Keep Dreaming"

This week I had a fullfillment of a dream I had for my Children. My Daughter graduated from college with a degree in Mathmatics Education.  Her Husband also graduated in Latin American Studies. I am so proud of both of them.  What an accomplishment!  I mad ethem this card. I thought of using congratulations or Celebrate on th eCard but decided that Dream worked great.. because of the fullfillment of a Dream and the  Dreams yet to come in their life.

I hope they like the card. I used Pear Pizzazz, and Melon Mambo.  I havent got my Melon Mambo stamp pad yet, so, I sponged with Pink Passion, and Certainly Celery using the SU Decor stencil  set, "Faux Flowers". The ribbon is stash form th ewedding last June and I used the sentiment form fabulosr Phrases. I lov ethis style of card every time I make them. Hope you do to.

Embossed Sketch Birthday

SOmetimes you try to make a card and you have a definate look in your head of what it is going to look like and then you make it and it transforms into something else. Such is this card...

When I saw the sketch challegne I used onthis card I invisioned a mostly white card using jsut color for the borders. but that Changed as I began to assemble the card. neccesity called for more color.
I lov eth e Cup Cake Punch for Brithday cards. I also like the EF I used on the front panel Darice Circles.  I also used the Once Upon a Time EF set for the cupcakes in the back panel for the first time.  I love the texture...
For all the Ingredients of this card please Check out my Card in my SCS gallery.  I have been typing blog post for a week and I think I am finally caught up to the cards I have made so everything should start being more current.

Well I cant go to this place with out stopping at my favorite Craft Store. I also cant go tot my favorite craft store without finding something I *need*.
This trip I found some Darice Embossing folders  so I used one of them on this card..Its called Large Petals lov ethe little dotted swirls and hearts withthe flowers embossed on to SU Melon Mambo.  I also bought a lattice border punch by EK Success.  I used them both on this card. I liked how it turned out.  The light pink is GP Pastle's Pink for the butterflies SU Sizzlet.  Certainly Celery for the leaves SU Sizzix die, Embassy Black. This card is definately a using th eStash Card. The flower gemstone I have had for 2 years, finally used it!  have more I need to use.

Roses of Gratitude

I bougth a few new toys on vacation with making some paper flowers in mind.  I was actually givign it a go when the try a new technique challenge wasa posted last Monday.  I had bought the Sizzix Floral Layer Die when on vacation to try using to make the flowers. Ihad been talkiing to my Firend Deb Felts about  how to do it prior to vacation.  I though the shallow petals punched would add some detail to the flowers when I made them and I wasnt disappointed.  I was just practicing I used old GP pastel cardstock in pink to make the roses.  I thought they turned out well so I had to use them on my next challenge card.
The technique was to use a border punch edge around a circle shape. I used my new EK  dotted Scallop and stash of Celery paper pieces to make the border and punch the leaves.  I decided the border shape needed to be wider so I added a second layer using MS Arched lattice.  The technique said to use a triangle wedge but I was lazy so I just fringed the edge of the strip.  I also used it around the back of the card shape so I cut a secondary circle of GP white cardstock using my Creative Memories circle cutters and stuck it on the back of the card to cover the fringed edges that allow the straight border to bend.  The Peach Parfait paper was the perfect color for the "bricked" background Sizzix Tim Holtz EF. I had to hand cut the Embassy black cardstock border. seems theri is a big Gap in the CM cutting sizes, and I caqnt quite afford to get a nice circle cutter yet.  I liek the way the last 3 little pearls look on the edge of the sentiment. Loving the Fabulous Phrases stamp set and my Modern Label punch. this really was a fun card to make and look at.
