Thoughts In Blue

I had so much fun making a card today for my friend. I used the Splitcoast Stampers Color Combo Challenge for the color theme(CC261)
...Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Melon Mambo. They are very spring like colors.
Since the envelopes Walmart sell now are a bit larger than they used to be I made a 6x4-1/4" card. I also wanted more space to write on. I trimmed paper to 6x11...scored at 2-3/4" & 7". I covered the large flap with Certainly Celery cardstock, and stamped the leaves from SU:Mixed Bouquet on with matching ink.
Next I trimmed the papers for the top flap going down by 1/4 inch for each color. I embossed the Bashful Blue Piece using Quikutz: Diamonds & Dots, A2 Embossing folder. I attached the celery cardstock then attached the ribbon. I matted with Melon Mambo, and as usual GP white is my base. The ribbon came from my friend Diana who sent me that big white ribbon Basket last summer...I matted the sentiment from SU:Sincere Salutations to match the matting on the top flap. I added Mark Richards:Crystal Stickers : Pearls to the dots on the embossing after attaching to the flap. Then I attached the sentiment to the edge using my ATG. To keep the flap from flipping open, I stamped the Daisy from SU: Mixed Bouquet in Bashful Blue and added a Pink Mark Richards: Crystal Sticker Elements for the flower center. lastlyI bent all the petals up and then rolled them down with two creases using my fingers. I also fluffed a bit to get the dimension flatter and looser. I mounted the flowers on Zot 3D Dots, using one dot cut into thirds. I made sure to catch the flap with the petals. Hope you & my friend like it.

Holiday Birthdays

Okay dont go have a heart attack or anything...Yes I am posting a second post in November!
Yesterday I decided to do the Featured Stamper Challenge on SplitCoastStampers. I havent posted a challenge in a while , and CarrollAnne is a friend of mine. I came up with this little beauty based on this CARD in her Gallery!

Since I have 3 friends I have lunch with in December, all celebrating their Birthdays. ((I am the odd Woman out, only because mine falls in October....I was born a few months early...;).))

I made 2 more cards this morning using the same theme. I like it so much I might make a few more using the Holiday Greetings stamp from Sincere Salutations also.

I used the QuiKutz Retro Diamond A2 Embossing folder, GP White Card stock, Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, MS Bough Branch Punch, SU Autumn Days, SU Sincere Salutations, Red Gem stones, and EK 1/16"Dimensionals.
Until Later...Happy Stamping!

A Graduation Card

In a little over a week one of My 5th DD will be graduating from High School! Can you believe it. I am so proud of her accomplishments.. She has been an excellent scholar and a great friend and person to everyone..She is such an example to me of what People should really be like and how they should treat people. A few of her friends are graduating as well as other kids from Church and my niece. So I was in need of about 8 Graduation cards.. So I mass produced them. I used my DD's school colors Purple(from a Michaels assorted Purple Pack by Paper Co...Stash!!!) and White (GP White from Wal-mart) since the majority of grads I am giving to go to the same High School.

The Black is a Paper Pack from Michael's also. I used QuiKuts to cut the Grad Cap out and added a Black clear impressions matte Brad to the Cap. I printed the "Class of 2009" on my computer and punched it and the matting out with my SU circle punches. I mounted it on Dimensionals. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the "Congrats" background, doesnt it have the perfect sentiment for a grad card..everythign your feeling all in one panel. I used my ticket corner punch thinking isnt a graduationa ticket to the rest of your life! A white gel pen was used to make the little white Dots and the ribbon is from a micro spool I picked up at my local craft store. I love this satiny stripped 1/2"ribbon. ...another simple card but when you need to make 8 of something, Simple is a good thing.

Until later ...Happy Stamping!
