Camp Journal

Remember these Mini Composition Books I cut the paper out for the covers Memorial Day Weekend, Well I have been working on them again tonight. I cut out all the Monogram letters in a Darico Cardstock from Walmart in Lime Green from their Tropical Assortment pack. I used my Mickey Alphabet Cartridge and my Cricut. I love the this chunky little font. I cut out 18 letters for each girls Initial and then sponged the edges and front with SU Chocolate Chip ink so they would blend better with the green dots on the dotted background paper. Lime green is our Camp color also. After sponging I cut a strip of 1/4" wide white organza ribbon that I 'm sure I picked up at Walmart. I placed it in a ziplock bag with a few drops of water and a few drops of SU Pretty In Pink Re-Inker. I work the ribbon around making sure it all gets soaked in the reinker and let it set for about 5 min. Then I wiped it down witha paper towel and ironed it lightly to set the ink.

I thien tied it double wrapping it and knotting it on a portion of the letters. I also counted through my mini Heather primas and chose 18 Bigger pink ones and used my white brads for centers, and 18 med to large cream ones, and 18 small avacado colored ones. Then I adhered the green flowers to all of them. I did this now to insure the ribbon would not slip off the ends of all the letters since I still have books to cover and finish up. Once they were adhered to the book with small Zots dots, I dotted the cream and green ones with Clear Glitter paint, the kind you use on fabrics. The bottles are a little larger then Stickles. They take a little longer to dry but when I am trying to stick to a budget for a project this works well as an alternative to keep cost down. I like them also because the tips dont get clogged so easy and for finer pin dots I apply by dipping my broken paper peircer or a tooth pick in some of the paint. I cut the Corners for the book from the same paper I cut for binding during the Memorial Day Weekend. I used my Jasmine Cartridge to cut them out. I think the girls will be very pleased with their camp journals.

EDIT: I just noticed I forgot to sand the edges of this journal. oops...I'll have to fix that...

Until tomorrow... Happy Stamping.....
