I liked the challenge layout by Roxi on SCS this week and decided I wanted to make a card using the layout. I have been trying to get a hold of a friend of mine. She has had a challenging couple of weeks and I haven't been able too. I made her this card. Very simple I know but it goes straight to the point and I know she'll love it.
For the base of this card I used SU retiring Morning Marigold. I picked it because it went so well with the matting paper pack I bought at Target, called "Bungalow mat pack" by Marcella by K this is a set of 32 sheet of paper made for matting 4x6 photos. It is textured and I really thought I could make a few cards with it. I chose to stamp "Autumn Leaves V:I Swirls" in Chocolate Chip on the printed piece to accent it. I used SU Cranberry Crisp also retiring for the verticle stripe, matting a stripe of Morning Marigold. I attached 2 pieces of Cranberry Crisp Ribbon around the strips with Zots Zips. I like the Zips when I really want a ribbon to stay in place. I stamped the Mini Mates sentiment "Hang in There" on off white cardstock using Chocolate Chip and then sponged with it also. The image is cut out with a 1-1/4 SU circle punch and matted with SU So Saffron Circle punched with the 1-3/8" punch. I wanted to accent the circle and was basically too lazy to take my cricut out and too late to make the noise cutting, so I used the Spring flower punch also from SU and punched several of the largest flower out of SU Cranberry crisp also and adhered them around the image. I then mounted the circle on top using an 1/8" inch dimesional and an 1/16" dimensional because half of it was already higher because of the verticle stripe. I used Creative Impressions assorted metallic brads in an antique copper color to attach the strip to the back of the card.
This is only a card front right now. The day got away from me and I wanted to make a post. It seems the weeks of summer are running by with all my childrens activities things should slow down for a month at the end of next week.
I hope you enjoy it and until next time ...Happy Stamping!
