I wanted to make a card for this weeks scs SC128 challenge using corner to corner cuts. I wanted to have a space in between the Petals Paper which is in the current SU Spring Mini Catalog as well as the Petals and Paisley stamp set which I used for this card. It expires the end of the month. I used SU Cool Carribean cardstock, which is expiring at the end of the month, for the base. I trimmed a piece of the two sided Petal Prints paper to 4x5-1/4" then cut it diagonally from corner to corner. I marked the center of the long side of the triangle with a pencil and folded the paper back to the mark so the yellow triangles showed. I trimmed an additional 1/8" off the short sides and adherred it to the base trying to line everything up evenly. It looked pretty good until I glued it down(he, he). I trimmed and mounted the SU Barely Banana(2-1/2x3-1/2)and Darico Turquoise paper(2-3/4x3-3/4) to use later to mat the image stamped on whisper White(2-1/8x2-1/2). I punched holes in the corners of the base using my paper piercer. The flowers were stamped first using Tempting Turquoise marker and Taken with Teal on the tips of the petals and the dot at the top of the stem. I masked the flowers, using a cut out of the image on a sticky post it note. I stamped with Pretty In Pink using the dotted background stamp over the masked image, then the masking is removed. The stems were drawn by hand, using an Old Olive marker. I distressed the edges of the paper using a distressing tool by Making Memories. The image was then mounted on the previously prepared matting. I tied a green grograin ribbon 3/8" and a piece of yellow trim I had picked up at a Local Craft Store, around the matted image before sticking it to the base. I paid special attention to keep the yellow ribbon showing. I lined it up ove and then pulled the green ribbon tight and then the yellow after. I dotted the corners of the matting with a SU Basic Black marker.
I made this card very quickly and I think it turned out well, I later added 4 MM tropic raspberry brads into the pierced corners. The lighting was terrible, so I will load an insert of the corner later when I have daylaight.
Until Later....Happy Stamping!
Very pretty! Love the rock and roll technique on the flowers!
