Heartfelt Baby Girl Card & More Baby-T's

Yesterdays Card turned out so well I decided to go back and look at another sketch challenge for inspiration, and I picked last weeks SC125. I had an idea for a Baby card when I saw it and since I need another one this weekend I thought I would try it out.

This is what I came up with.
I wanted to use all white with just a touch of pink to mat the center strip, but when assembling the card I felt it needed a tad more pink. Its for a baby girl after all! I eventually decided to mount it all on a Regal Rose base. You can't tell from the picture but the strip is mounted on Dimesionals so it is popped out above the D'vine Swirl Cuttlebug embossed white background. The light pink rhinestone brad is one I picked up in the Target dollar section a year ago, and I have been hoarding them ever since. Now they are showing up everywhere and in all sorts of sizes and colors. I love the special touch they add to any card.

I really wanted to understate the images so the Pretty in Pink was used and stamped off once before stamping the background, and the Regal Rose large flower was stamped off also and then immediately dowsed with Kalidescope embossing powder and heat set to add a minimal amount of shimmer. The "Welcome" and "Baby" sentiments were stamped in Regal Rose and were not stamped off because I wanted it to stand out. Simple and Sweet I hope you like it.

Today I also wanted to try using Craft ink to stamp on Baby T's. This special baby's name is Grace so I chose to use SU "Mixed Bouquet" and "Graceful Words" to stamp the shirts.

The only colors of Pigment stamp ink I have besides silver and gold, are the four I chose to use on this shirt. I used painter's tape to mask the shirt where I didn't want ink to go. I measured and masked a strip 2" apart. Then I stamped the Purple ink, drying between each color with my blow dryer. Next I did the orange flower and the green leaves. after cleaning the stamps and letting it dry well I stamped "grace". I really liked how these turned out, except I would have liked the Blue to be a little darker. I know I will be investing in some more craft inks. What do you think?, leave a comment and let me know. Until Tomorrow...

...Happy Stamping.....
