I have one last High School Graduation and then I am through for the year. I had a lot of fun with this bright card. I used Darice Tropical Assortment card stock, and MM tropic colored brads. I am pleased with how this card turned out. I tried some new things, that I think worked well. First I decided and cut the layers each is different by 1/4" first lime green, then raspberry then turquoise and lastly the bright yellow and white layer. the Green layer is 4" x 5-1/4". I used my SU ticket corner punch on all but the green layer. Next I put the blue layer in the congrats embossing folder and decided where I could emboss one word, and then marked the side edge of the paper. I used my slit tool punch to notch the sides. I only inserted the paper about 1/4" and made sure the mark was centered and level then punched. I then put the blue piece in the embossing folder centering the "Congrats" on the turquoise piece of paper and ran it in my Cuttlebug just far enough to emboss the one word. I then dragged a Lime VersaColor Ink spot lightly over the top. I really like how the versa color worked for this. I added some yellow brads and then did turquoise brads on the outer corners. I think both colors compliment the card well. I cut the yellow matting to 2-1/4" x 3-1/8", the white was cut to 2 "x 3-7/8". I sponged a little of the lime green on the edges of the white cardstock using the ink spot. I stamped the cap from SU "Little Layers Plus" in Lime green after stamping it off once. Then I stamped the "You Did It" sentiment From SU "Mini Mates" in Black "StazOn" over the cap. Mini Mates is a useful set and is retiring the end of the month. The ribbon is an Offray Sheer Petit Dot Kiwi I picked up at Walmart. Finding the Lime ink spot really helped me to use this cute colorful ribbon. I have been trying to use for months. I was going to tie the ribbon around the notched sides of the turquoise paper, but felt the color showed up better on the white. So I added the Black matted white circle with "O7 on it. I really like how this card turned out. Bright colors are usually not my thing, but I think they are growing on me!
Later Today I will be posting some Blog Candy so please check back!!!
Until Then... Happy Stamping...
Very pretty! Love all of the colors! The shading on the "contrats" is great, too!
